Btw I'm in Winnipeg for the night. Technically oak bluff. If anyone bored and wants to grab coffee

night in with the wifey

took off the ol timing belt that i bought in 2009 or 10.. been running it for at least 6 years, though for only 24k or so. looked almost new, still had the faded mitsu stamping. hadnt stretched much if at all, even after sitting for 7 months out of each year. tensioner still accepted the grenade pin.
oh well, out with the old and in with a new gates and pullies.
180 stant superstat this year, see if it helps keep temps around operating
bunch of other little bits still to do and retune

Nice. More I watch YouTube the more I research and the excitement builds up..

So cant wait too see the potential in July.

I might wrap it not sure of the flat black.

I'm not sure of the cost here. Back in saskatoon I think it cost 2400

I'm running the 180. Great for the season. Sucked in the winter LOL

no doubt. i just want a tstat that is fully open by 192, i dont think this one (wherever i got it 10 years ago) even starts until 192 or 195. add a small passageway and it keeps more fluid in the block where i dont want it.
even speed holes in my front bumper and a crashbar gutting only had a minute change, and i flushed my rad last night to find no issues.
fluid comes out clean every drain too.. so its not rust or buildup.
its a shit thermostat that doesnt allow enough to circulate to the rad at the appropriate time.
looking forward to some stable temps

I'm serious considering a aftermarket vented hood to assist in temp controls and give the car a more aggressive look

Lots of people do it but the best way to do it is installing off center . (Purpose > looks ) . Ive always wanted the talon front grill peice with the vent and cut holes behind it .

Due to unforeseen circumstances.

I'll do two options
1. Sell the car with the 20g injectors fuel pump dsmlink for 5000. 165000 new front end new rear hubs etc

2. Sell the upgrade package for 2200 obo

If interested let me know

She's got to go

Sigh.

Torn CV axle boot. Guess it was only time for one of those...
Actually, less torn.. more obliterated. Examination of internals without removing axle makes me believe it happened very late in the system. Socket is still clean.. but it's got to come out before I order a new boot. Cross your fingers it's not an entirely new axle.

I just got mine done. I feel the pain

Well, good news is i cleaned the shit out of it and looked at the ball, cage, and cup.. and it definitely looks like it happened very late, probably when I drove it in <5C weather last September. Balls are clean and no sign of unusual wear. I am thinking this axle is actually not the original but a rebuilt before I got it. Anyway, yay, that much closer to boostin just need a set of 235/45r17s now.

235's gezze looks like you need grip :) what kind of tires you looking for?

Also, still looking for a 7 or 6bolt short block. Any condition works, really regretting selling off the dsm parts now...

holy crap
look who it is LOL
fwd, man, i need all the help i can get without going crazy $$ right now. you remember how monstrously silly it gets above 3200 with these shitty hercules 205s.

been perusing pmctire.com and have narrowed it down to

Falken Azenis FK510
or
Dunlop Direzza DZ102

would prefer more tire than tread gap as i dont plan on driving in anything wet or snow.

I am just buying two.. no sense having 235 in the rear.

i liked Yokohama AVID ENVigors when i had them on the S4 but those were 245 and awd so there was a lot going for them already. two wheel with an open diff is a different ballgame

Hey david.

Contact Brandon pimpy rider on the forum. He is in saskatoon. But I know he has a few blocks available

Although, who knows.. since I am on a 7.5" wheel, a 235 is going to lose about 5mm from its section width. In that case it makes more sense to drop down to a 225 but go with a better tire, maintaining "about" the same price yet still be ahead.
Those NT555 G2 are awfully attractive.

Once I get the transmission done. I'll need to look at tires. Definitely appreciate the info :).

ordered up. we will see how they work along with a few other tricks i intend to do.
i dont mind a bit of spin, makes it a little fun to keep the ricers generally quiet.. i just want to boost more than 14 in 2nd and 20 in 3rd. this ought to be a monunental change from what I have now.

I'm so glad I got awd :) car should be back on all 4s by Saturday. Then limp it to Winnipeg and finish the rear suspension. Then drive it too moose jaw and get back to work.

Sept transmission is getting rebuilt and then power upgrade just in time to store the car for 2020 LOL

Yeah. Finding an awd in this province in any sort of even ok condition, as I have said before, is like finding a fkin unicorn. And these people attempt to price them to match that..
I was lucky enough to get this one from an autopac auction for 500 over a decade ago.

"sorry, youre asking how many thousands for rotten rockers and a busted automatic? im not even going to attempt to haggle because youre clearly out of touch with reality."

My 97 I got for 2500
This one an auto for 2000
