Just finished rebuilding my 7 bolt first start and it's leaking oil from the balance shaft seal it keeps pushing it out replaced seal and same thing can someone please help me

I'm not sure if it is spinning for some reason I think it is oil pressure pushing it out there is a lot of oil coming out when it goes should there be oil pressure there and if so where is it coming from there are two holes behind the seal on top and on bottom I can post pics tomorrow if it will help

I can post a video in the morning I'm not sure if it is spinning because the gear is in the way should I run it with the gear off the but the shaft won't be spinning

Hard to tell without seeing pics. but I imagine that the spacer is missing or worn out badly or maybe damaged oil seal. Didn't you forget to install the spacer?

No spacer is there the seal feels tight when it goes in it pushes right out after about 10-15 seconds after starting it and oil is pouring out

Is there a repair sleeve in place? If so, remove it. A sleeve caused my crank seal to fall out in the past.

Which side are you talking about?
You don't have the spacer with the timing belt sprocket. (the right side).
but you have to have the spacer behind the balancer shaft belt sprocket (the left side). That is the one contacting with the oil seal.

Sorry I do have the spacer should have put a comma after no I'm talking about the one closest to the radiator not the one that turns the oil pump

I'm not sure what the oil pressure is the stock gauge reads a little over half at idle and no it's not a oem seal the closest dealer is 2 hours away from me the only thing I did different is block the EGR could that be the cause

So I put some sealant around it the odd thing is oil is still coming out from behind the seal

what an annoying mess..............if you have not, try getting a brand new oem seal. i had a brand new aftermarket seal that had questionable fitment in the past. I didnt try using it.

never used anything but oem in there after that

Check that front case for damage. Hard to tell in the pics but it does look a little dinged up at the bottom where the seal presses in.

Aftermarket I think oil was passing from one of the passages into the area behind the seal that's the only thing I can think was happening causing so much oil pressure there
