Seeing as I have my 2g head valve train apart at the moment I thought I'd do a weight comparison.

The total weight of the stock valve train i.e. valves, springs, retainers and collets is 1884g (sorry I live in a metric country)

New valve train is Supertech beehive valve springs, +1mm SS intake valves, +1mm inconel exhaust valves, Ti retainers, OEM collets. Total weight 1679g.

Weight savings equal 205g. On average that's 12.81g off each valve assembly. At 40rpm per gram, this equates to an increase in valve train RPM limit (disregarding the higher rate springs) of about 500rpm. Not a bad deal.

Good to know the numbers. What about without the valves, for those that want to retain what they have?

Component weights as follows, done on my nowhere near calibrated kitchen scale. Take this as a guide only.

I knew the Ti retainers were going to be lighter, but was surprised by the savings in the springs.
