Just bought 1997 tsi
JE pistons
Crower rods/cam/valve springs
Bigger injectors
JMF intake
3" stainless exhaust
Bigger turbo/intecooler
Scannmaster 3i
Ect ect
When i floor it and boost gets to top off factory gauge
Engine light comes on let off gas light goes out
2 blue springs in wastegate think thats good for 26psi
Any idea why light is coming on?
 
Do you have an AFR gauge? You might be going lean? Might have some knock? If you have any data logging can you give a little bit more info? or maybe post a log?

I have a scanmaster 3i, it has afr reading

Do you have dsmlink? If so check your settings. You may have it defaulted to appear to show knock

Yes just downloaded sofware just need usb adapter now LOL

I have dsm link where exactly do i find if engine light is set up for knock?

I found it was set at 5deg
I see on ecm link under full 23lbs boost its at 7.4 deg retard knock is this bad
 
Turn your boost down until you dial in afr. I believe 1 blue spring is 14psi so remove one. Do you have a boost controller, wideband? You'll want to also log the following.

MAFraw - if you're running MAF

InjDuty
Battery
STFT
LTFT (think med for 2g???)
Airflow
Airflowperrev
 
Blew exhaust manifold gasket yesterday thanks for help with be repairing and turning boost down via manual boost controller.
 
Check for flatness on both matting surfaces of the manifold while you have it off. And torque correctly when reinstalling.
Manifold to turbo 40-47 ftlbs. Make sure you have OEM bolts and OEM washers (2 per bolt). They work best.
Manifold to head 18-22 ftlbs. Start from center bolt and work outwards

Knock retard 0deg

Just discovered i have a garett gt3082r turbo with ss tial exaust side and blow off valve gotta figure out what injectors i have
 
Just went crazy on amazon ordered greedy electronic boost control
Timing light
Ae air fuel with o2 sensor

I set base timing to 5deg
Base Fuel pressure to 42.5
Plug gap to .028
Installed af and boost gauge
I have v2 eprom
I can change everthing except fuel settings is there something im missing or different software older v2 maybe?
Car is running Fantastic af at 15.3 i sure would like to make mixture mors ritch!
