There has been mention recently that FP had a 10cm2 DSM-flanged housing in the works...wonder if this was a test run? :hmm:

Disappointing that they seem to have shelved the FP30/35 bolt-on housings in favor of the 8cm. I know they dabbled in cheaper journal bearing options using the bigger housings before and didn't seem to really take off. And it seems like the new Xona stuff uses different size turbine wheels so you can't even swap an existing 30/35 housing to a Xona easily. Interesting to hear they may be developing a 10cm bolt-on, still.

I was definitely a bit confused when I saw Robert post that a 10cm2 DSM housing was in the works considering they already had a .68 a/r stainless DSM housing marketed 15 years ago. I assume he meant this one would be cast but that makes no sense because their existing cast housings aren't that durable, and nobody would want to run an internal gate at that level anyway. What they need to develop is their own durable (stainless?) 12cm2 stock-fitment twin-scroll internally-gated housing for the Evo VIII/IX platform to twin the single-scroll Evo housing they use made by TiAL....the DSM stuff has already run it's course.

Someone should just make a manifold to fit evo x turbos to dsms @MorrisonFab considering that the orientation is correct. I had talked to Emery at STM about it a few years back and he estimated in the 1200 range and would need at least 10 people to start working on it.. That would eliminate the need to continue to develop dsm based turbo products (since it's run it's course) while supporting our current vendors.

It is a regular 8cm FP Black that was purchased 4 years ago.

The 10cm bolt on housing will be on 62mm compressor with the new Xona turbine wheel. He is hoping to have it ready prior to the shoot out.

I love the twin-scroll 12cm2 housing idea, the only downside there is you're limited to a 54mm turbine exducer in the stock housing before the housing gets too thin at the exit. In the past people would have to stack rows of coins on there with a tig welder to beef it up and then machine it for TD06H wheels. Not that it's impossible, it's just "another step" and nobody currently offers a durable housing option for the X's that directly-accepts a TD06H turbine.

Similar to the DSM86 from a few years ago then. Pretty sweet- I actually still have one of those here in fantastic condition.

i see the 60 ft is 1.295, which is very impressive. Anyone knows what rpm they have the 2-step set at and what boost when they are leaving the line?

2 step is 4k and it leaves on around 16-18psi
