Im looking for a megasquirt timing map. The 12x12 msI. I think I have decent one built comparing it to other one here. I would like to see one built by some who knows more about tuning than I do. I am kind of new to it.

Here is my latest and greatest fuel and timing maps side by side.

I think it'd be more helpful to show the timing curve. Gives a better picture of what cells your hitting and when. I'll post mine, but it seem a little off still. I think I run too much timing at peak torque.

Engine: Stock 7 Bolt
Turbo: PTE 5031
Gas: 93 Octane

Highlighted cells are generally what I'm hitting. That pull was around 22 PSI I believe.

Here is my last tune w/dyno sheet

344hp@6500 278ft-lbs and max tq. 325ft-lbs

AFR: 11.2
Boost: 20psi
Load:270-280

My mods are listed in profile

Next time I will make some more changes and raise the boost. I changed afr to 11.8 on way home and reached load cell 300 at 6700rpms so I got more power still to make on 20psi never mind more boost.

Small 16g - 20psi
Stock 2.0L short block
Comp 101200 cams w/ Evo 8 springs
Speed Density
Pump 93 w/ PTE 680cc injectors and a Walbro 190 pump

My maps are setup so that Load=kPa, so I see about 240 load.
The fuel maps is followed pretty closely. I see about 11.4AFR up top.

Once I get a motorcycle later this summer for a second mode of transportation, I'll start looking towards an HX35 setup. I thought about E85 but they're few an far between in PA.

Sorry about the image quality, but I'm running the 96531706 SD rom with "big maps". :p

HOLY pie eater!!
I'm so happy I searched "timing maps", I currently do not have one to post. I'm new to link v3 and tuning in depth like this in general. This thread is actually EXTREMELY helpful for those that don't quite understand timing maps yet!

Thank you dearly for this.
And ill post my timing map when I get my car tuned the way I want her. :)

Here are my maps.

Evo8 Ecu, 1G Motor, 272° FP2 cams, Evo3 16G, no lambda input, 2G MAS, 850ccm injectors, E85, daily driven.

car produced ~285whp with about 16PSI, never dynoed it with full boost (yet).
I know the timing map looks crazy, I tuned my NT 4G63 and produced a map a little more aggressive than implemented the same map into the turbocar.
Its not knocking, running strong (107mph 1/4 mile with 16PSI).

Kinda sad this thread died off, could be a great resource for people setting up base maps! Here's what I have, still working with a (clean) stock SMIC :banghead:

Clipped Big16G @~21psi
Stock 2.0L 7.8:1 6 bolt
91 pump gas :sosad:

Finally getting around to posting these. Here are my timing and (93 octane) fuel maps that I run with my 68hta at 20 psi on my stock 7 bolt long block. I've made a lot of minor adjustments over a long period of time, these are where I felt most satisfied as far as drivability and power with minimal to no knock. I still see a few counts from time to time, but rarely, and likely phantom knock. The red line is a rough trace of my load curve, not exact, but it's just there for visual reference.

I'd like to see this thread come back to life. It helped me a lot when I first started tuning.

Over the past year, I've made some changes to the setup, which also meant setting up a new tune.

The main tuning change being an e85 conversion, I also installed some FP2 cams, a ported evo 3 intake manifold, and a ported head.

Something I learned about e85 is that it not only allows for added timing advance, it needs it. One of the first things I did when changing over, was add 2-3 degrees of timing advance on the top end (see my pump gas maps above). I turned the boost down to 17 to test the new setup, and at 3 psi less than my pump gas tune, I went 4mph faster in the quarter mile. I turned the boost up, and to my surprise, ended up losing power. 20 psi and my trap speed went back down to 102mph. When I traced the map afterwards, I found that when I had lowered the boost, I had dropped into a section of the map that was basically set to stock timing levels, and that increasing it back to 20 put me back into the 260 load range, where I had to drop it to prevent knocking on pump gas (same region I added 2-3 degrees beforehand). Being that the timing numbers were still relatively low, I figured that maybe I needed more. Turned out to be exactly what the car wanted. After ending up at the map below, the car not only has much more power like it should, but it feels happier in general. Much smoother on the top end.

This really shows that ethanol isn't just knock resistant, allowing it to run more timing, but the fact that it has completely different (slower) burn characteristics requires it to run more timing to maintain power, and can run significantly more for additional power. This is my experience at least.

Really going to be trying to get on a dyno in October.
