How many of us use our DSMs as actual daily cars? Or how many own just a DSM?

Do you daily your DSM?

464awhp but it’s my only car at the moment so it’s been my daily for a year and has served me well! Kinda sucks in the snow though LOL felt bad for driving it in the snow last week so waxed it today for the first time since I’ve owned it, besides the typical clear 1g clear coat fade I think it cleaned up nicely for 27 year old paint.

Sorry I know a bit much on the photos just super stoked on how good the paint cleaned up

I daily drove mine for the summer which was about 4 miles round trip haha. Then my HG blew on a drive into the mountains, so I spent a couple months rebuilding and DD'd in the family 97' impreza (Until I blew the HG on that too). Just got the car back in December after multiple other issues arose, just in time for me to leave again for work. So the car sits waxed and in the garage waiting for me to get back and tinker with it some more. This car is my only car but it is also my toy as I live in Seattle so mass transit is easier.

The ‘99 Spyder only comes out after the salt has all washed away in the spring. Then, it shares daily duties, along with the truck, but only sees about 3k miles per season.

The Minnesota winters are brutal, and I’m sure glad the Spyder doesn’t have to deal with the extreme cold, pot holes and road sand blasting.

Have to keep brushing it off, or we wouldn’t find it again until spring.

Drove the Eclipse the other day to the store, had the A/C on and was just cruising. You forget sometimes as an enthusiast, just what attracted people to these cars in the first place. They really do not ride bad, and they are comfortable in stock form. A/C is cold as shit. Lol. Even with a FMIC.

Lots of respect for those who do daily their DSM's.

My DD and only car for 20 years! Always done all repairs, rebuilds, and maintenance myself on everything. Drive it year round here in Minnesota and go on TSD snow rallies in winter and regular TSD rallies in summer with it (I'm retired now). Always kept in garage when not driving it. Unbelievably the head has never been off but I learned how to and rebuilt the tranny myself 3 times. Still the most fun car I've ever owned and worth the maintenance.

Is it that warm in the Carolinas this time of year to use a/c?

It was that day. It’s been hit or miss. Some days are in the 70’s and others are in the 30’s-40’s. But my wife’s pregnant so we use the a/c pretty much anytime a hot flash hits.

People stop me and ask about this car. You just don't see these daily anymore. They

tell me that they blew these cars up when they were young, so many years ago. Many say "would you sell it". I say "No".

I daily drove my first 2G GSX for 12 years. I still have it stashed away with over 200k on it. Fires up and runs great still, always did. Ive had the GSX Ive been more into lately for about 8 years now. Really got back into it about a year ago, before then I was stubborn about keeping it stock. Really glad I caved on that, Ive had a blast with it this past year.

I daily drive a 2004 Tacoma now. Im using the TRD Supercharger setup with supporting fuel and methanol injection and have been using an AEM FIC-6 to tune. The setup was worth the effort and has been good. Really wish there was a better, entry level priced management solution for the Tacoma though. Ive got it pretty close with the AEM unit but nothing like what can be done with ECM Link. Were so lucky to have that option with these DSMs.

I've been daily driving my Talon for 7-8 years now. Longest trip was 2200 miles without issue, has seen -55 degrees, 14 inches of snow, and has well over 200K miles.

Purchased a BRZ a couple years ago to take on the daily duty, but find myself driving the Talon anyway.

I daily drive Prototype in the summer (and it's an alum rod car with a gtx4202 on it). Does pretty well, honestly. Gets up to speed way better than my winter car (2000 honda civic that's probably - likely - the slowest car on this planet) on nice days. It has MT ET streets so I don't take it when it's raining though.
It ain't pretty, but it's mine :)

We took my old car before it was demolished by the tree from Wisconsin to Utah and back with no issues (~2800 miles)! It was an absolute blast to drive there in one of the cars.

So, sorta daily drivin', sorta not!

I havent been able to daily my dsm for a few years now, but it did make 1 year of daily duty before it became unreliable. I've got 4 1g talon awds a mk7 golf gti and my awesome old 80's chevy pickup with a 6.2 diesel in it. My daily driving duties are between my golf and my truck i enjoy driving every vehicle i have. Hoping i can make at lest 1 1g reliable so i can start selling off the others.
