Hi, everyone I'm new to this site . so I'm planning on getting a turbo for my car , so the question is the I've found a turbo kit for my 420a and the guy said that it wouldn't fit so if anybody can help me out i know it fits its for the 420a this is the turbo kit T3/T4 Turbo kits Eclipse Dodge Avenger Neon 2.0L 420A Turbocharger + Manifold..

Do you have a link to the kit? If it's for the other 420a cars, that's why it stays it won't fit yours specificially, as fitment between the cars is slightly different. You also need to know if it's for a sohc or dohc 420a.

If this is an eBay kit, I highly recommend against getting it, as quality is going to be a major issue.

What are you going to be tuning with?
What's the condition of your current motor/trans?
Stock 420a's aren't going to deal with alot of power/boost before grenading especially without a solid, on-point tune.

@dsmcrzy may be able offer more 420a specific info.

No its not a eBay one , I'm getting it from speedyracer.com treadstoneperformance.com does are the sites that I've found online .. And my conditions of the car are good i don't have any problems with the motor and trany are good the car only got 132 thousand on the cluster and I know that the 420a its a none turbo car I do lots of research on the motor that I got and I also know that is not a good idea of putting a turbo because the internals won't last and I'm planning on running some wiseco piston with a compresion of 8.1 if I remember and stage 2 Crower cams and for the head I haven't figured it all out yet . but I know I'm changing valve spring and retanir and maybe change valves depends of the conditions of it im not trying to get lots of HP just wanna make around 220 225 with 8psi that's all and for tunning I still don't kno this is all I'm planning for now its my first turbo car ...

Gotcha, if you're planning on building a motor that's a different story.

You may be able to get away with that power for a while on a stock motor as long as the tune is good. I'd recommend megasquirt for ECU/tuning if you can deal with the learning curve.

I'm not up on 420a stuff so hopefully one of the n/t guys can pop in and give more insight

I know I'm not a pro or an expert . but that is the reason I wanna put better internals for I don't have to go thru the trouble of doing all of that when my motor goes. I know somethings here and there and I forgot to mention for injector I'm planning going with 450cc or 440cc with a FMU to help build the fuel pressure since is a none turbo car and thank you for the reply..

First off, if your quest for power is that low... save the money on building the head... it will be pointless to waste the money.

As far as the bottom end goes, the rods are the weak point. A forged bottom end (eagle rods and wiseco or je pistons) will run you around $800 total.

If you are going to build a capable bottom end, it would be a waste to ruin it with an fmu setup. It’s like making a cake and covering it with dirt... your choice though as lots of people have had success with it and on a lower boost setting it should be fine.

Don’t forget a new clutch too. The stocker won’t last long with boost. South bend clutch makes good clutches for the 420a. I ran a stage 1 for a while but that didn’t keep up after I boosted the car. I’m running a stage 3 now.

A link to the kit would be helpful for us to give you advice though. Treadstone did have a kit for the eclipse 420a for a long time. My build thread has all the parts I used.

I know this heads can't handle lots of HP that's why I'm not leaving the head stock. And also I'm not trying to build a race car or a drag car I just want a decent mount of HP that's all I've read 420a with 300+ and 400+ and that's fine with . but I'm not looking or trying to make a lot this will be ever my first turbo car I just want what i want , and far as for the rod being the weakes link I kno thats why I'm planning to go with eagle forged H beam rod with the wiseco pistons... and ass for the clutch I know I'm updating that to I take one step at a time..

The head is not the weak point at all. The stock head will be perfectly fine with that low level of power. There are guys that never touch the head and run 300 hp by just turning up the boost some more.

Ohh OK , I thought it wouldn't I've read that this motors can't handle lots of HP without upgrading I'm still learning here.

Do you have a 420a .?? And if you do how long you had it under boosted it how does run any problems with fuel cutting when into boost I know lots of people are having that problem..

I have a 420a. I have had it boosted for close to 4 years now. I run a stand-alone ecu (megasquirt) so I don’t have any of those issues. The stock ecu has been completely out of the car for about 5 years now.

nice , so ive read that people either go with megasquirt or they use SAFC for tunnig i don't know how to connect megasquirt if you don't know it will be hard to understand and tune..

good morning everyone.
can anybody tell me if a fastwayracer turbo kit is any good, i don't kno but I was doing some research and someone said its like ebay junk .. i already have one site but I wanna know from where you guys get your turbo kit for a 420a..
I'm looking thru couple of sites to see who have a desent turbo..
Please and thank you..

Yah , I just did whent thru it . and I think for me I be better of buying a kit .. I did couple of research and the only full kit is from treadstoneperfermance wich I already got that site I was just trying to see if I could get it from somewhere else..
and honestly I wouldn't buy a turbo from ebay some things are good and some are bad it all depends what you buying.. thanks for the reply..

can anybody tell me, what could be wrong or has come acros this setiation.
Ok idk but one day my car didnt wanna start or anything. when i put the key in the egnition and wait like four second or so it doesnt start, but when i put the key and trun it right away it will start right up..
i thought it was the egnition that didnt work

Hi , everyone i need some confirmation about some valves that i got. ok I came across a website called thmotorsport I was looking around and found some brain crower stainless steel valves. I already got the package, its from a 4g63 and it said that they will fit.
Any information would be a great help.

I kno you could use the valve springs , and not the vavle retainers the part number is BC3101 and I forgot to say that they're STD vavle.
