I need everything related to my windshield sprayer being operational again. I bought the car with everything removed. Can you send links to everything I need to get the windshield sprayer working again? There's quite a bit of space In the bottom right engine bay area near the left headlight. That's where it'll go. Is there a whole kit I can buy or do I have to buy pump, nozzle, cables etc separately?

If you want, I’m tearing down my old 97 GSX that will be going to the junk yard.
It is up to you to verify all parts that you need, but if I have them, you can have them cheap.
Just get me an exact list of parts and I’ll grab them for you.
The junkyard? What happened?:ohdamn:

I'm not sure if you have a 4G63 or 420A . The 4G63 OEM setup is actually in the trunk under the spare tire. I'm sure you can set it up in the engine bay if you want, but I like the idea of having as little in the engine bay as possible.
He has a GST...

I think the guy who had it before me was a mechanic and raced it at the track (sadly its not that fast). Once the holset hx35 kicks in it gets a little speed but it's not a super fast car I feel like. He eliminated the AC, Power Steering (the worst thing he did) and theres no sign of washer fluid pump/container.

Thanks for the link 1990TSIAWDTALON I'm ordering this now! :D

Maybe the car just needs a new tune. That HX35 should send you to the mid 11's at the track with supporting mods.

We have members on here that will remote tune with you, I have had several fine people help me out. They can jump on your computer, look at your stuff and either tell you what to do or do it for you. The last time I paid for a remote-in tune I think it ran me $300 for a dual map (3 or more years ago).
Post up a want a tune ad in the classifieds. @bastarddsm and @dacowgod both have done tunes and I would PM either of them and inquire on pricing, to start out with. They are both good. :thumb:

Yes I'd love to do it myself. I'll get in contact with them, thank you so much. Is there a device to buy online that shows my check engine light and lets be reset that? I was messing around with the manual boost controller and when I cracked it all the to the highest level it would over heat the car idling for some reason, I just have it turned down a little bit from max and its running super cool. For some reason if I clicked the manual boost controller all the way up it would overheat the car and my check engine light is on now.

I am sure that I got ahead of myself, what does the car have in it for tuning? ECMLink or something different or none?
It will have to have a way to alter the original factory tune. IF you have ECMLink, you can clear the code yourself.

Dam, I forgot you are in a 1998. It has a "black box" ecu that can be tuned. I personally haven't tuned with them, even though I have a 98. It has been on the back burner since starting to rod knock.
So your stock ECU is programmable but you would need to talk to one of the tuners to see what, if anything, they could do to help you. That computer usually uses a program called Cedymods I believe, and has free software and some others are running it on here. I can't say much else about it since I have no experience with them, but it doesn't hurt to post it up or ask one of the tuners. I believe they are limited in abilities compared to ECMLink, the tuning software that a lot of us use.

If you have a black box ecu, you will need ecuflash (free) and evoscan (around $25 iirc), as well as a tactrix cable (price varies, $20-100). The 2.0 one works well, but I believe there is a 3.0 or even a bluetooth one now.

Once you have those components, you can look up some basic tutorials about using evoscan to log, and ecu flash to change things or upload entirely new tunes. You can even use ceddymods files to go full speed density if you desire to. There's not quite as much support as ecmlink, but there's plenty to get you going and plenty of guys that can tune with it, especially in the Evo crowd.

You need to look at your ECU to verify which one you actually have before buying anything, so check that out and come back with any questions you have!

Also if you need a 2g washer fluid setup and it is indeed in the trunk, I can get a pretty mint setup off a 97 AWD talon TSI if you need it, just lmk ASAP so I can go pull it for you!

Awesome, So lets pretend I'm a total newbie to the tuning scene ( I am :D ) and figure out where I find everything. I am totally up for buying these components and learning how to tune it myself, and would rather do it this way because nobody really cares about this car except me! I can do facetime or video chat if that helps. Can you give me links to all the components I need to buy from amazon

First I'd say check you ECU to ensure what style you have. Then I or another member can help you find what you need.

The ECU is behind the radio compartment, HERE is a link to a removal procedure, you don't have to take it out though. Just take the panels off till you can see it, if it's in a black plastic case, black box. If it's in a gold colored metal case, it's a standard ecu. If you're not sure you can snap a pic and post it so we can help identify it.
