Just in a junk yard. It has surface scratches from previous owners cleaning it over the years, but it's way better then mine was. Mine looked like someone took a pocket knife to the right side LOL.

Got the interior in for the most part. working on a few other items and then its time for mechanical, timing and tune up! Then we can try to start her!

yesterday I found good condition sun visors, a shift boot with only one quarter inch crack, and the plastic hardware for the hatch wing!

The other day I also found the plastcis for the pop up headlight, fuse cover and all the remaining turn signals /side markers! woot

Tried to start it Saturday.. no fuel.

Pulled the pump and looked in the tank.. well crap.

Trying to source a tank right now. There are 4 1gs in a yard 100 miles from me. Probably will head there Thursday morning.

Great job on the inside!

What tools, chemicals and processes did you use to get it all cleaned?

Also where did you get the USB cigarette lighter?

Honestly I just did it as simple as possible. Shopvac, simple green, water and rags. It took a lot of time, but turned out okay.

The seats turned out okay but had some stains. I used resolve dry shampoo on them with a brush and vacuum. I ended up replacing all the seats from a parts car I bought.

The USB was off Amazon and was pretty cheap.

Truly amazing what you’ve done with that car:applause::rocks:! And I would love to see pics from the timing belt/tune up:hellyeah:
Thanks! Yeah lots of hard work. I'm so close to it running..

Some before and afters of timing / water pump and my new plugs/wires.

The plugs and wires I pulled were trashed... this could possibly be the reason the previous owners said It had a "misfire" or "ran poorly" and they then parked it for 10 years.....

one more update for today.

My car has a solid back rear seat. I wanted to put in nicer seats and the solid back are just harder to find. I had bought a partout car that had great interior and seats. If you didn't know, the split back seats have an additional bracket in the car that the sold back don't have.

First step for the install was to drill out the spot welds on the bracket of the parts car.

Second was to line up and weld the bracket into my car (don't judge my welds) LOL

Well got the new to me fuel tank in. The junk yards puncture them all to drain them so I had my brother in law tig weld it up for me.

What do you think? I'll post the new one and my old one.. LOL

also did brakes from POWERSTOP today and threw on some Megan racing springs. I know they suck on stock struts but I got the springs for a good deal and they were brand new and already on stock struts. Figured I'd try them to see if I like the height before I spend money on coilovers.

Got the new tank, fuel pump and everything put back in and together.

Tried to start it today and it only started with starting fluid. I do have fuel at the rail now.

So I ordered some injectors, a fuel rail and pressure regulator from a local guy and I'll try again later this week.

Got this thing to start and idle.. rough. It seems like its missing but I have good injectors that are pulsing and all for plugs are sparking. Plugs look black from running rich so im thinking i must have a huge vacuum or boost leak. It hardly idles and won't rev at all.

So far I've replaced fuel pump, fuel filters, fuel tank, fuel rail, fpr, plugs, wires, coils, PTU, air filter, replaced all timing belts/accessory belts/pulleys/tensioner, water pump, and readjusted the cas. I was getting 10* and I adjusted to 5* and it idles way better, but still same symptoms.

I do have an extra ISC and CAS I can swap on, but unplugging my isc doesn't change things so I don't think it's bad.

Also wonder if my exhaust is all clogged up from sitting for ten years. It had wasp hives in both tail pipes.

Any suggestions? Would you guys do boost, vacuume, compression tests at this point or am I missing something?
