I own a 95 eagle talon tsi awd manual 5 speed. I have had it since new. The car is stock other than a cold air intake, 18 inch rims and tires, New aftermarket plug wires, new OEM coils, and an Optima redtop battery. It has 95,000 kms on it. Unfortunately I have been distracted with other projects and the car sits more than it drives. The car needs some TLC. I need suggestions for the following items to replace/upgrade:
-shocks/struts (looking at KYB struts - yellows or Exel g's?)
-brakes including drilled & slotted rotors and new calipers (Baer or Willwood?) to fit 18 in wheels
-replacement HD clutch (ACT or something else and which model? - i want something that will handle up to 300hp in a daily driver - no racing or competition)
-springs (Eibach Pro-kit drop springs or something else?)

Thanks in advance for your input.

Hey man welcome... Can't speak much to the suspension upgrades as I am still running stock other than nameless stiffened shocks

As far as brakes though there are alot of options out there- And you can't really go wrong with anything you choose

I run strictly performance's conversion kit for the Cadillac CTS-V brembo brakes up front and they work a wonder! They also allow you to customize what rotors you want so if you like that drilled and slotted look you can grab them. Also they grab wayyyy better than stock had to adjust braking ratios a bit so that my front end wouldn't dive. I am also running stock calipers in back with a full brembo upgrade and SS lines.

The biggest thing to worry about is wheel clearance when upgrading to brembos or willwoods, 18" rims will clear the top of the caliper but these brakes are also wider than stock so you need to think about offset as well. Best way to make sure it will fit is go online to tire rack or whatever store sells your rims and type in a random EVO model and see if your rims pop up, if they don't they may not clear the big brakes. Or you could always buy a nice set of EVO rims because man they look mean on our cars.

Hi Cory, welcome! Hope you find the forum as useful as we all have. I can say you might check on a South Bend 2300 clutch setup. Stock pedal feel but better clamp. Ran one in mine and it held up well and was way over abused.

Thanks Marty. I find the forum very helpful, just can't get to it as often as I would like. Any idea where I can find a South Bend for my Talon, preferably in Canada? I am running a twin disk setup in my 2004 3500 SRW Quad cab cummins and like the stock pedal feel. Thanks in advance. Cory

Mine also came from Tim.
