i don't know i would rather by the tooling moulds. and make body kits for people.
my friends and cuzens are opening a all in one shop for imports and dom's in a year
we keep putting it off because of lack of money. I'm suing a org. to my money back lil over 800000.00$
and to get 4,000,000.00$ for pain and suffering then ill open shop.
but in the mean time I'm looking at what i can build that people want. for a good price.
D&R time is now. i CAN BUILD CUSTOM AWD CIVIC's and CRX's with all custom suspension .
i can build GSX custom tube subframes and suspension and with 3000GT VR4 TT rear diff housing for all AWD GSX or Gs-X RS-X GST-X, and honda CONV. to AWD 4G63T CARS. we can make BMW RACE CARS, LAMBO cars as race cars. i guess any thing. even custom lifted trucks

Something like this would be cool, the front half anyway. Not a fan of the rear fenders on quarter panel.

Rear fender flares look better on this pic.

hey thats the rocket bunny wide body kit. i didn't know the Greedy made the bunny for 2g DSM's. huh.
i take that in advisement that people like the kit for the 2g.
i like to mix and match body kits with other body kits, i old GSX i had the JT EVO 3 front bumper and side skirts with a Bomber rear bumper it looked really good. I'm plan on doing it agin with one of my new GSX
I'm going to see how many GSX's i can make that are all differ from one another.
800hp to record braking hp. i thinking of building a 4.0L full billet engine. 66mm stroke and big bore 4 cylinder DOHC 16v big bore ported billet head and custom made intake/Exhaust manifold matched up ports. custom made cams
gear dive dry sump pump. and a custom built/made transmission 6speed

Not to be a jerk, but I don't see alot of this happening... If you can do even a portion of the above, I suggest working with some of the vendors before trying to do it solo. At least some of them would have tooling (for the engine/trans pieces).
Body kit stuff, you're still on your own in my book.

i will be buying a Centroid A690 mill soon over the next year and this mill will make a full engine thats what its used for and more. it does a lot ! but only think is it's $450,000.00 for one.

Please tell me where you work because I want to send in my resume.

If you buy a mill or anything at that crazy price, you might make some cool stuff, but I'm pretty sure you won't make much return from trying to sell this stuff to the DSM community. Billet engine parts have a narrow niche and the majority of the community doesn't want body kits.

like I said I'm in Ontario Canada and I'm will have a new shop after i sue some people for my misfortune
in a year I'm hoping to start. ill have a centroid mill mig/tig welders 180mm tube bender and lot more stuff for the shop. I'm plan on doing lowrider and lifted trucks and SUV's and lambo TT app's and BMW I'm big in. bikes (on road and off Road) sand rails, UTV's ATV's i know Tractor trailers. and heavy Equipment.
computers systems and app's car audio video and computing and HT Home Audio video computing

^^This is the key.
There are some guys who want to relive the early 2000's street racer style and honestly good for them, not my style but I respect the work that goes into doing it right. But the majority of the DSMers love the way their car looks from the factory. In fact the only real thing I want to add to the exterior of mine "body kit" wise is the Carbonetics lip kit. I wouldn't call that a body kit however.
So in terms of the body kits available carid.com has a decent selection, but none of them are particularly great looking. Once again though it all comes down to personal preference..

im thinking the same thing LOL more people don't go with body kits, the don't have the money and they just upgrade the turbo system, exhaust, rims, tires and lower the car and they have a 300hp-400hp car

Which is waaaay better than most cheesy riced out body kits that are/were available in past/present .. This platform is all about go fastness with a reasonable investment, while we all appreciate your enthusiasm for body kits, I just don't think you will find that the audience you need in the DSM crowd..

Trolled? i don't think anyone would get upset about someone with dreams of owning a shop.
most people can but i know i have what it takes to have a shop. its going to be online too, as well as
having a brick and mortar shop. i have back found in this field and even to I'm a no name is. there is hope for me. I'm all so building a small parts factory for parts we need that are not made by anyone anymore.
and stuff we can get from manifactcors anymore and better parts then of the shelf.

all the best you to bud. dream big but also be realietic as, especially with a shop, you can get in over your head real fast and then people are suing you! LOL

I think this will be your biggest issue. Having awesome products is all good and well, but having a customer base with the money to support your business, justify your facilities, equipment and staff is the main focus.

Making hard to get parts sounds great, but how much would they cost? If they're made from scratch they're going to cost an arm and a leg, and not many will be able to afford them.

You've gotta have a market for your product.

i know the production of a product will be cost efficient and high quality products. with quality control at a reasonable prices and my man are going to be artists at work. ill have to think of my money problem. i only have one shot at this.
i'm sewing a business for a huge amount of money and this is where the money go into. a business.
why piss it away when i can be productive with the money. and hope for the best.
I'm buying all new equipment. it costs the arm and leg. thats the big one. the Centroid mill and Amob
bender cost 400,000$ each and thats stuff i need and i have a full list of stuff that i need to buy.

the forum was started because i can get any good body kits for me cars. we are only lift with junk.
and a few good looking hood's. I'm mad very mad. I'm trying to build some RACE TUNER CARS
that have class. and i can't get the body parts i want. it like i have to custom make it. but i need
tooling mould's for it. and i em trying to get the moulds but no luck yet.

well i talk to JT AUTO STYLE about the EVO 3 style Eclipse body kit and he will make more if i can get
15 to 20 cars done. do we need a group buy thing going on here, on bodykits.com they go for under 800$ for a full fb rb ss kit. i don't think I'm good a-naff to do so. but i want the tooling moulds JT has. copy or something. and i am planing to mike a EVO 3 style wide body for mitsu GSX, Honda AWD EM1 DSMed, and 90-91 AWD CRX DSMed.

I'm not sure if you would be interested but I have a brand new 1g body kit sitting in my barn that I would like to sell. It looks like the one that was sold by Andy's Auto Sport years ago.

dose anyone know how to coreight the body kit tooling mould with out making a mess out of someones car? i was thinking that how was the tooling moulds where made from photo or drawing plans?
this the any CAD APP's for body building that have diagrams and dimensions loaded in the CAD APP that you can build on to the diagram of cars and change how they look and new macerment's are set at?

I've seen people tape up their quarter panel/fender with painters tape and make a mold overtop of that. Once you remove the mold, you can just remove the tape and your car is fine (from what I've seen).

There is another thread about CADing stuff for our cars, the summary is that no one has made an accurate 1-to-1 3D model of a DSM, so it's mostly impossible to CAD a perfect body kit. However, if you can accurately measure your car's in the x-y-z axis, you can make a widebody fender or something in CAD. The only issue is that if you produce it, most of the error is going to be in your measurements of the fender due to how difficult it is to measure in 3D. FYI CAD is not easy to get aquainted with, however if you choose to do so, I reccomend SolidEdge (my preference) or SolidWorks

Actually, Carbonetics makes 3 different styled wide body kits for DSMs. I personally wouldn't go with any of them except the bolt on wide body kit (I'm VERY particular about wide body kits, they HAVE to look good), but it's $1500 bucks for the fender flares... kind of what you guys were saying earlier, the kits might look good, but they are WAY too expensive for someone to actually justify buying one. I personally love wide body kits if done right, but when I do it to my car, I'm probably going to get some rocket bunny BRZ fenders for $350 and do some custom work to make them look right.

Personally, the only reason I'm considering a wide body kit is so I can have wider tires and more grip, especially when launching cuz my 2G is FWD. That, and it would look awesome ROFL The truth comes out, I know... The second rocket bunny rendering that AlmightySo posted is just GEORGOUS!! Anyways, that my two cents.
