I was just wondering if anyone has any functionality or performance information regarding the revised 2g lifters? I see that you can get the revised lifters for less than the real 3g ones, but didn't know if they were as good. Anyone had problems?

They are the same thing. The "3g" means the 3rd generation of the lifter design. It's a "revised" design. Bigger hole on top and larger oil passage. I don't know how you can be getting different prices on the same thing, I guess just buy the cheaper one.

The actual 3rd generation Eclipse's lifters will not fit in the 4G63. Just shop around. Check out Jackson Auto Machine... They seem to have a pretty good deal on them.

$160 a set

I got my set on ebay for $125 shipped, and I as I was replacing them I could totally tell the difference between the 2. The hole in the original lifters is about the of a " . " whereas the revised lifters look like a man hole in comparison. The new lifters got rid of the ticking I would occasionally get on start up and improved my oil pressure

:thumb:^^ you beat me to it. We been having good luck with the topline lifters as stated above.

I have the 3g lifters in my car and the motor is super quiet without any tick at all, the injectors pulse louder wereas my friends 1g with stock lifters tends to tick pretty loud on ocassion and it just sounds horrible. My advice would be to get the 3g lifters a.s.a.p

I know this thread is a dead one, but to answer the original question, I'm pretty sure I've read that both the revised 2g lifters and the 3g lifters have the bigger hole on top, but the 3g lifters have a larger oil passage than that of the revised 2g lifters.

they are the same thing. they both have the 3mm oil port

helps with the ticking you get from your stock ones.

They're sold on ebay by two different vendors, both are usually between $79-80 shipped.
