How many of us use our DSMs as actual daily cars? Or how many own just a DSM?

Do you daily your DSM?

I've daily driven my gsx ever since I bought it a year ago. Not only daily driven, but I've road tripped between North Carolina and Ohio 4 times. Never broken down on me, I've only had to change the starter once. My only issue is the 5 speed bumps I have to drive over daily in my apartment complex haha

I daily drove mine everyday until around 2 years ago. It was my daily for the past 12 years or so. My commute to work is around 80 miles round trip and it handled it with no problem. I ended up buy another car just to try to prevent putting excess miles on the new engine. However, I still drive it to work 2-3 times a week during the summer just because I like driving it so much.

I've been driving mine fairly regularly, until global warming froze the battery a couple days ago. A battery blanket is on it's way. I hope it fits, since it's such a tight fit around the battery area.

I have daily driven mine and it most likely would be ok but i opt not to some time ago as its not exactly comfy and also panels are even harder to come by,

I daily drove a manual 2g all through my twenties, then a couple of years ago I got a beater automatic for work and been dailying that. It's kinda sorry to daily a stick shift in traffic. I mainly take it out now for weekend meets and occasional Fridays to work.

2 hours every couple days in summer is more than enough to leave my ears bleeding and back sore and with no a/c +30C is intolerable. DD a CX5.

Daily drove my 93' talon until it had around 300k, daily drove my 90' GSX until it had around 300k also, those were the only ones that I used as daily cars, after they were dead I now have my Spyder and built car that are just toys that come out in summer, I will say that it always felt so at home jumping into a 1g cockpit LOL its like riding a bicycle.

I use to daily mine for about 2 years or so averaging 450 miles a week until my engine blew so during the rebuild I bought a 99 Civic Si as a daily and eventually just let my DSM sit for the most part after I finished the rebuild and everything. Runs but just sits now.

I'm curious to see how many responses this'll get. I understand that most people here are from North America and it's more than likely you'll have more than 1 car, but still. How many of you actually daily your DSM, and how many own just a single DSM and no other car? This question doesn't factor in when the DSM is currently on a stand being worked on, LOL. Also, by 'daily' I mean using it as your main car. Grocery getter, furniture mover, road trip goer etc..
My dsm is my dd. But after the harsh winter we had in Montana, I ended up destroying my back bumper (fiber glass body kit. Big effing mistake) so my plan eventually is to buy back my old Honda from my dad so that I can start driving that during the winter.

I bought a mint 92 talon tsi Fwd in 2015. It was bone stock with 87k original miles. I did some tasteful upgrades like hta68 turbo, 3 inch exhaust, vrsf intercooler, 950cc injectors, ecm link, etc. I work construction so I only drive it on nice days if I don't have to carry many tools to the job. It's now only got 90k miles on it. Its definitely a toy and only sees the road a few times a month since I have 5 cars total.

I've owned my DSM for about 13 years. Of those, it's only ran for about 4. After my last rebuild, i got about 200 miles and my timing belt started running 1/4" off the cams grinding into the cover and it started smoking so i think i need the head flattened with a new head gasket.

Currently my 98 n/t is my daily when I'm home, I travel for work so 90% of my driving is in a company truck LOL. My Lexus is my daily but I pulled the motor to rebuild and refresh so I've been driving the eclipse around on the weekends. Runs like crap because it's a fully built for boost motor running stock ECU, tune, and injectors ‍♂️

Used to. Put 300k-400k miles on 3 cars daily driving them. Then moved to CSM's when my commute was nearing 2 hours one way. Put about 200K on 3 CSM's. On in particular, I put 65K on in one year. Motor went. Moved to another one. All my DSM's/CSM's are parked now. I pull one out of the weeds every 2-3 years and get it running and drive it for fun in the summer. Now days I daily a 2000 Honda Insight. Currently at 345K miles and climbing. The insight has been the most reliable car I've owned. Gets good gas mileage. All aluminum/plastic so won't rust. Still a 2 seater with a manual to make it a a little fun. Best part is 60+ mpg. Now, I'm saving to build a hot rod project that'll utilize a DSM powertrain.

i only got one DSM and i Daily it i'ts also my first own Car (I'm from Germany) But to be honest that's the first and last winter i'm driving it not gonna do that again haha, also i don't know for sure how long this car will stay the owner before me well he was such a liar and now i'm stuck with some bad rust issues

My 93 Eclipse is garaged at night so the frame and underside is really very clean for the age, I drive my Trailblazer in snow and extreme heat but otherwise, unless it's been in shop, it's been my daily car going on 15 years now. Just put my 3rd engine in it after the timing belt broke and the a/c failed on me late last fall but I'll replace the compressor before spring. Love that 5 speed and 30 mpg.Parts are getting awfully hard to come by so I am pretty careful with it. That low front bumper needs some love again as well as some very minor dings but everything else still runs good.

Most definitely, for 14years and counting now I've daily driven a DSM. Though I've own alot of them, always kept one running and still do even with a 100mile roundtrip commute! My current 2g has over 300k on the bottom end and still keeps up with or smokes anything that thinks it's fast enough to step. Breaks my heart see that its days are growing short as parts have started to become a bit more difficult to find...but I'll keep it goin as long as possible!

I only have one car , 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT V6 . Harsh winters in Canada can be brutal on a car so mine is parked until good weather. Looking around for a winter beater , some thing I can tow my boat with.. I`m going to be adding front and rear bumper lips and side skirts for eye candy.. Not into performance any more.

I also own 2 cars. I have a 2012 Lancer and my 98 eclipse. My wife drives the Lancer daily and I drive the Eclipse daily. Sometimes we don't need to use both so we take either-or depending on where we are going and how much vehicle space we need. Love the AWD in this weather! Always a joy to drive in the snow.

I daily drove mine from 2001 to 2011.
At 314,xxx km I blew the motor then for a year I built a motor for it (and had two kids), so it's been parked since 2011. Drove it for a couple months last summer but that's about it.

I have a 2001 that I daily drive now and my wife's got the Aviator to take the kids around.
I do miss driving the dsm like crazy though.
