So before I start I have to credit matt at Morrison Fab for the idea. I dont know if anyone else has done this modification but im going to give it a go. The modification im referring to is moving the radiator support forward by cutting out the old and welding in a 2x2 angle iron. Over the week I attempted to upgrade my fans but im out of room, Im really sick in tired of dealing with this cramped section of my engine bay so here we go.

I'm going tube front end once I can start working on stuff again, excited to have mountains of room I won't need because of my plans haha.

Nice mod tho, did you make or buy a front mm bar as well? I think I see it in the pics but I'm on meds and a bit out of it haha.

I have a bulfab front crossmember, problem is im upgrading my fans to the mishimoto race fans from the standards.... they are much bigger so I have basically no room. Its going down tmrw.

That's actually really awsome. Especially if your going with a 16g or bigger and having to yank out the ac fan, mod the shroud, or go slim fan.

Best mod ever. Happy overall

I like what you did there. I kind of did the same on my car, for easy engine removal and install. I wanted it to still look stock when the front end is installed.

I like how u did that, i was going to go to a tube front but I wanted to keep it simple as possible.

Finished everything last night. I relocated the oil cooler also... I had it between the rad and intercooler. This modification is awesome. Unfortunately I had to keep one standard mishimoto fan for fitment purposes. So i have a race style fan on the passenger side and a standard fan on the driver. I also rewired the fans on 70amp relays. I had both fans wired together to the passenger side harness. I think this will be better for the charging system.

After taking the car out several times my car went from averaging temps around 206 to 198-200, thats a 7 degree difference from moving the rad forward and upgrading the fan

I have that exact same fan setup on my 2g................that "race line" fan RIPS. Any cooling nonsense ended with the installation of that fan, for me, and I run AC when conditions suck. Ive got the heavy one on the pass side where it fits well, and the slim one mashed in there on the driver side.................. with a 38mm 2bolt recirc o2 housing. It all fits and works well. I do want to wire the driver fan to come on with the main fan, only to protect the slim fans housing/shroud from melting, because it will melt if that fan doesnt run when things heat up, even though I never go over 200*........and that is with manifold and turbine housing blankets from Levi at TPP.

Its really amazing how much better those fans are, shouldnt be surprised as their twice the cost. But moving the radiator forward also gave me almost 5 inches of clearance.... thats substantial
