This is not DSM related, but some of you might get a kick out of this, and I’m curious if any of you have already done this / gone down this road.

Going to be purchasing a WRX or WRX STI in the near future (when I say near future —> probably next year) Buying used. Goal is <$30k and <30k miles. Very doable.
Was just gonna go with a 2016/2017 STI or 2018 STI for the updates (mainly the brakes/seats). Reason for choosing this is for the 2.5 now that almost all the bugs have been worked out, the aftermarket support is relentless and port fuel we’ve got down pat. Lol. As far as tuners and options for tuning.

But I may sit back and wait to see what the 2020 STI is going to bring.
However, now I’m heavily considering any 2016-2019 WRX premium or limited for the FA20 —> just messing with that and continue learning GDI as I continue to educate myself on tuning through literature and HPA / EFI101.

And this is where I started reading what others have done whether through their own fab/CNC DIY or through premade kits. Dual fueling. GDI/PFI simultaneously.
Now that would be fun / sounds interesting —> Playing around with the pros and cons of both. EMS’s of today have no problem handling the task.
This would be a daily, probably put the max at 450hp. Anything more than that sounds like lag to me. I’m probably cool with 350-400whp. Eyeing up the Garrett G25-660, or a GTX2871R for the task.
Have been pondering this for a couple weeks now and just figured I’d throw some of this up to see what those of you who might be interested in commenting would have to say.

Anyone ever mess with engines that have both? Or adapted port fuel onto a GDI engine and successfully ran both.
