interesting in this swap though, what made you want to use this trans? and can i guess your now going RWD

well yes, the 350z/g35 is very affordable platform, to source great parts, you can build a nasty DSM.

However i plan on trowing a 4G into a G35, its simple decision, building the VQ is to costly per power.
And we all have plenty of 4G's Sooooooooo..
It gives me alot of room to take the freedom to make anything happen. cant do that with the existing Vq.

I was looking for current stock, if there is none, then it just easier for me to design it.

sure..

just for fun, ill show some of my work,

The above was a final project in were, i reversed engineered the 85.5mm 9.0:1 and STD rods, cranks is not to true dimensions ...

Ill eventually put up anything i create, 4g side is easy, CD wont be, im happy to put more work in if other contribute dimensions.

sounds like a great build coming alont, keep us all posted here aswel,

great designing on the CAD there, thats some stuff I would one day love to learn just to mess around with.

That's awesome, wish I'd had the education and opportunity in school to do more CAD stuff.

Great job man! I did my last bell housing adapter the old fashioned way, SWAG and luck, haha.

The real problem is getting a clutch plate that will fit on top of a Dsm flywheel but has the right spline count for your transmission you want to use, that and the input shaft length has to be able to fit into the clutch pack, and then the pressure plate situation and pilot bearing if necessary.

I like !!!! Yeah cutting of bell housing and using an adapter reminds me of all the T56 adaptations I’ve seen !!

Looks great, I would like to try and create something we’re no cutting or fab work needed!
True^ but But it’s quite obvious there’s going to be a lot of fabrication and adjustments.

Honestly it’s not even that serious if I really had to I can always just design a solution but maybe I can even grab the standard clutch from the CD trans and see if I can press fit matching spline.

^ There’s going to be a lot of things that don’t exist and aren’t going to work that’s OK for me .

For me problems are not longer issues they’re just solutions That haven’t been solved yet

Yeah, I had to take a Supra clutch hub and swap it into a Ford clutch disc, wasn't too hard but it took some thinking. Frin what I've found, alot of clutch manufacturers use the same hub sizes if they both have 4, 6 or however many hub legs. I used an eBay 7mge Supra F1 racing hub inside a spec stage 2 11" mustang clutch disc, some grade 8 standoff screws and hd swaged nuts with loctite. Saw that trick by some old hot rodders, trued using actual clutch rivets, but my press didn't wanna cooperate, and after enough research I determined the bolts would suffice.

Yeah having a nice no-fab bolt together would be super nice, I could've gone with a zf trans, but the size, gear ratios etc all worked against my goal. Sometimes just gotta make something haha.
I've heard the rx7 gearboxes will bolt to some 4g63 stuff, but not sure A: if that's true, B: how much power they hold and C: how accessible those transmissions are.
