so i am fixing up a 95 GSX and noticed the T25 fans on the turbo look like shit. I have a TD04(LR) Turbo laying around that i pulled from my 05 SRT4 that is in a lot better shape. Just curious how easy it is to swap to the TD04? i have been looking through threads about people asking somewhat similar questions but never found what i am looking for... basically seeing if everything bolts up fine, i heard the flange may be different? what would i have to do to make it work, and would i have to get the car retuned for that turbo? or would it just be cheaper/easier to find a T25 turbo on ebay? heres a pic of the T25 on the car. thank you in advance for any help and tips.

Holy moly that thing either ate a huge pile of rocks or it was ran with no filter. Or maybe the long-lost 10mm socket made its way in there.

Jokes aside, that impeller is more than toast. The inside of the compressor housing might also have some damage to it, so you may really need to get a whole other turbo. I'd guess a used T25 would be cheaper around you than a 14B or a 16G. But then again, you already have a 14B so I guess it's a 50/50 decision. I'm personally gonna vote for getting a used cheap T25 and bringing it back on the road for the time being. In the meanwhile you can plan a proper 14B swap with all the necessary parts needed and upgrade to that later down the line.

so the TD04 wouldnt be a straight swap then, right? so would be easier to just get another T25? they have some brand new ones on ebay for $140 or so...

The SRT4 has the "turbofold" - it is a TD04LR 15G. It has no separate turbine housing, since it is integrated into the whole manifold and cannot be removed. So, from the start, the CHRA and compressor housing are all that could be adapted. However, there is no physical way to mount up the turbo to a DSM manifold, since there are no turbine housings that will fit and spin in the correct direction. The 14B is a TD05H (won't fit), and the R in TD04LR means that it spins in reverse. There are very few reverse-rotation MHI turbos - the SRT4 turbo and Evo 4-9 turbo are the only ones that come to mind, and they can't be adapted to DSMs. The SRT4 turbo is useless to anyone who doesn't own a Chrysler 2.4L.

Don't buy a brand new T25 for $140. It's a Chinese pile of garbage that will fail quickly. I'm sure you could find a good used one for less than $200, search around.

Like Subaru, their tdo4 15 gs. If you wanted a 13g tdo4 from a 1g auto, that's a legit swap. Might have an easier time finding a td05 14b.
You cant go wrong with a 13g or a 14b to be honest.

Stay away from Ebay turbos. Check the classifieds here, or fb, I'm suren u can find a good used turbo for semi cheap. Jusmx141 is a mod here who rebuilds turbos, you can PM him too.

okay awesome. thank you for the info and replies! yeah dodge did some weird stuff with the srt4, heh. was just hoping id be able to put a spare turbo to good use. alright, no chinese turbo, stick with used for under $200, got it. Ill see if i can find a used T25 around. there is a gasket kit i need right? might as well pick up one of those also

You'll need new copper crush washers, and oil drain and feed gaskets. Could use the manifold and 02 housing gasket too.
Dont skimp out on the copper crush washers, I must mention those again.

so i am fixing up a 95 GSX and noticed the T25 fans on the turbo look like sh**. I have a TD04(LR) Turbo laying around that i pulled from my 05 SRT4 that is in a lot better shape. Just curious how easy it is to swap to the TD04?
Impossible. Not only is the TD04LR a MHI turbo and the T25 a Garrett, the TD04LR is a reverse-rotation unit which no turbine housing exists for because it fits into a one-piece turbine housing and manifold combination on it's original application (2.4L Chrysler products). So not only are you changing brands, you're changing orientation....like trying to fit a FWD GM engine into a RWD Ford car.
