@JusMX141 had a customer run that housing. I believe he stated the gains were minimal but hypothesized that the turbo may last longer in 0.82 housing.

Were the gains minimal from a .70 housing or which housing did the person have before?

It would be great to see numbers or hear from anyone with first hand knowledge. I just installed a built 2.0 engine and I’m still breaking it in with the HX35 with .55 BEP. I haven’t been able to fully experience this setup yet but once I get it broken in I can directly compare that to the .82 HX40 once I switch over. I also have a .55 BEP housing for my HX40 so debating trying that before switching over to the T3 stuff.

Gains minimal *from the .70 T3 housing to a .82 housing using an OEM Holset rotor group*. The reason these housings were created were to target users with upgraded compressor wheels; your typical 60mm cast wheel HX40 2.0L user will gain nothing but lag.

So I’m on my second built motor since the first one had issues right off the bat. With that I was never able to experience the HX35 BEP setup. While everything else was getting done I did switch to the Punishment T3 manifold and turns out I have a Holset HX50 that I mounted the .82 Turbo Lab housing on. Had to switch out the radiator to an AFCO to help everything fit but getting very close to actually running the car again.

Has anyone got any real experience with this yet? A lot of installs but hardly any actual feedback. Excessive heat from back pressure seems to be killing a few holsets then this housing should be a great option provided spool isn't more than 300-500 rpm slower than the .70
