'98 GSX leather interior, if I remove all of it, sound deadening (install lighter deadening) and lighter race seats and 6 point harness and hoop roll bar behind front seats installed. Just from that change what savings will I see? I'm looking at a 2-3 month goal to be able to get to events in June-August so I will get everything done all at once. I searched but found nothing. Thanks guys

Minimal but efficient weight savings nonetheless. Any weight loss is a good thing. If you have the exact weight measurements on the new seats and sound deadening than you could easily calculate it.

The 5th post on this thread^ has someone saying that they saved around 100ish lbs so that's somewhere to start.

^This is a weight breakdown of a 1G car, but I would venture to say that the weight differences can't be too far. Especially for things like sound deadening. Btw you could always go ahead and find the ratio of sound deadening to square footage on the 1G car, and then do easy ratio work to find the correct amount for a 2G car. I would assume something like sound deadening didn't get too much attention from the engineers at Mitsubishi, therefore your solved answer wouldn't be too far off, if not spot on to the real thing.

I truly appreciate your reply. Big thanks to the DSMTUNERS for all the support

did you search? Ludacris wants to know what fail points are in the search option.

I have logged some parts of weights of swapped items and some not logged details of weights, if you need help let me know what specifically you need and i will try find my details out.

First thing you want is lighter wheels

Very helpful and appreciated reply. I'm struggling with my search keywords. I'm working on it

Hey i will tell you that the glove box, the trim around the steering wheel columm weight alot, sound deadning material is heavy like a 20ft roll weighs 45lbs. Do you have power leather seat on the driver n pass, or just driver side. Speakers and radio all together weigh 20lbs. As far as light weight wheels make sure you weigh them before you mount the tires.
Good luck man cant wait to see what it looks like

Saving weight via the driver helps too, and costs nothing :p

What I did after doing some weight reduction was bring the car to a dump or truck weighing station. Get actual values before and after. Makes you feel good when you see the difference, also helps with gas consumption on a daily. CF hood/hatch and sunroof makes a big difference on CG dropping for handling.

Any of the little things helps. Some exhausts are incredibly heavy so keep that in mind. Spare tire/jack if you don't have that one done (CAA you don't need a spare set, at least not a half size wheel)

I'm going to weigh it at our local landfill. That's the best place for anyone to weigh any car they need weighed. Both seats are power and it's a sunroof car. The hatch area is completely empty. I'm not going to worry about ditching my interior until I can get a cage in it. So I'm going to slowly start buying seats and harnesses. I really thought about what my goals were and getting the engine/transmission where it needs to be is more beneficial. I'm going to cut carbs and save weight there :D

Thank you I agree it would definitely help others to find it easier with a search. Great info:hellyeah:
I got a list of other parts aswel so i shall see what i can russle up in the next week or 2
