Thanks guys I appreciate the help and advice. As of right now I have a safc but don’t think I’m gonna use it. The car has the black box Ecuador’s but I have no clue on tuning so I’d have to have someone else tune it or eventually get link and start teaching myself. I just don’t wan to put this car together and skip out and have something happen. Want a semi reliable street car. Any other advice and tips would be great too

With the amount of Ethanol in gasoline today I would run at least 680cc on an Evo3 turbo, I ran that setup at one time and still saw around 80% duty cycle logged at times and thats really as far as I would recommend for duty cycle since its nice to have a bit of a cushion in case of an air leak or just about anything else that could happen.

Yeah that’s the reason I wanted to get bigger injectors that way there more room for tuning and I’ve heard that those turbos tend to have boost creep and running a little bigger injectors I can have a less % duty cycle and have more cushion as you said.

I would lose the AFC. It will get the job done, but leaves plenty to be desired.

Do whatever you have to to get Ecmlink if you can. Put in the time to learn how it works, read the same stuff 10 times if you have to, so worth it......... then you will be the one in control of your cars state of tune, and will never be waiting around for someones help, or looking for someone to tune. Plus when you make a change to your setup, you can quantify results and make adjustments when needed, rather than "it just needs a tune" over and over.

What’s the best way to get link I know you need the socketed ecu and everything so is it best to find someone with a used setup? And what else would I need besides the ecu and link itself

Just the OBD cable and a laptop. :thumb:

Blackbox really works excellent but you won't find allot of help/assistance with it.
Between the blackbox ~$100, tactrix ~$200, evoscan, $25, WBO2 ~$200ish a very usable package for tuning but really no support and very minimal help.
Once you learn and understand things you really don't need help and support though but you'll have to put in the seat time and be willing to largely learn on your own.
I use FIC 750cc injectors with a stock 2.0 & 14b @ 18-19psi and I see peak IDC of around 69% for reference.
750cc should be enough for your stated goals but going with 850cc probably wouldn't be a bad consideration.

Link has the most community support which softens the learning curve allot.

Thanks guys a lot for the help my personal preference is to find link from someone who has the ecu also. Is the 95 ecu the only one that works in the 2g?

Btw I’m only 17 so coming up with parts take some time since I can only work half a day. That’s why I ask so many questions. I don’t want to put this car together to see it go boom

if you are 17 and these are the questions you are asking and replys then you sir have a good mind and keep this up! most 17 yearold turn the boost up and dot care then complain about the car after, so well done for wanting to do it right from the start! if you follow our guides and help you will be just fine, I myself have just got my hybrid 16G on and next is my injectors and ECMlink V3 so you are on the right path,

Ideally you would want a 95' eprom ecu, the 95' was the only year on a 2g that was possible to get an eprom in from the factory, that doesnt even mean that all 95's come with an eprom but alot of them did, so make sure if you find one that you get a picture of it with the lid off to make sure its an eprom model 95'. Dsmlink can convert non eprom ecu's to eprom, but it will add to the expense, so if you can find a 95' eprom it will be cheaper and even better if someone already socketed it. I agree with your asking the right questions, you sound involved and smart...most dads would be happy to have a son that behaves like you do, keep it up.

Thank you guys every much I’m gonna keep chugging along with this project and put a smile on my dads face when it’s done. He’s the one that got me into these cars and he started the build then lost interest and I got into technical school and decided to continue the project and finish it.

Sounds like you got a nice platform to work off of! As others have said safc sucks but you can't go wrong investing in ecmlink especially v3 full. As for fuel I think a good rule of thumb is go for bigger then you expect you'll need. That way you got room to grow and won't be running max duty cycle. I always ran fuel injector clinic and walbro pumps and they been great! I prefer the low z but it's just my personal opinion. Feel free to start a build thread if you haven't already!

SO … if your car will do 8s in the 1/4 mile ,.how fast do you think mine will do if you where to push me down the track ?
SORRY … I couldn't help myself . At one time I did some bracket racing and there is so much to consider when guess-ta-mating 1/4 mile time . Weight , air temperature , tire size , ect . Even the longitude and altitude can play a part . There is no way this question can be answered .

6800lbs total+ your car in neutral it would run 12.30s.

Well some one told me if I shave off a hundred pounds I would get a better E/T so I shaved off my beard and it weighed under an ounce so what do I do now.
That depends on how functional you would like your car to be LOL. You could remove extra stuff from the interior and from the engine bay.
