Let's talk about Xona Rotor vs. EFR. vs. GTX. Who has used any of these types of turbos and what were your thoughts? I'd REALLY like to hear from someone that has personally used both EFR and Xona Rotor turbos. I realize they're pricey and they're kinda new so many people may not have had the chance to play with them both.

I have an EFR turbo that's for a different platform but it's not installed yet. I'm asking about this because I'm considering what new turbo to put on my DSM to replace the HTA88 that has thrust play on it now. I'll have the HTA88 rebuilt by FP because it's a great turbo... and I'll use it again someday.

Thank you for your time and I hope this sparks a healthy discussion about modern turbochargers. Also, please leave the "why would you do that when you can just slap a holset on it and call it a day, " comments out. There are several other threads about holsets that people can read if they'd like to learn about those.

I'd like to see someone running a new g series from Garrett. The g550 and g660 look awesome and the compactness is very cool.

Yeah I've been on there, there's just a different mantality over there. You also have to wade through so much b.s. to find anything.

Yeah I agree on that Brian. I don't think that "go check this other forum" is a good reply..... because it doesn't add to the discussion. This is kind of a problem on this forum. Maybe someone with some experience could chime in?

I rarely get an answer for something important based on one forum alone. Research is a major component of product choice and it's tedious and time consuming. The fact that we have another forum for a popular car with the same engine is really fortunate, as there is a ton of intel on EvoM. If you don't want to dig through their archives, it may be more effective to ask a shop's opinion.

Exactly!

How’s this for adding to the discussion?

I agree with both of you about EvoM, but this place is sooo dead that EvoM is a great source of info.
