Finished up the cooling system and half of the intercooler setup. Gotta figure out the throttle body side to fit in an IAT bung. Oil line and feed line for the turbo is next on the list also adapting the cross member to fit around the oil pan.

Rear end update. Explorer 8.8 Shortened, painted, axles installed, calipers bolted. Original gas tank removed and wow it's clean inside for a 40 year old tank. Tires are mounted on wheels. Next is clean up the leaf springs, add bushings, make some rear brake lines, install the rear end in the truck.

Finally rear end installed, bushings installed, brake lines fabbed and installed with brackets welded up, wheels and tires mocked up with full weight of truck. Next is to install brake master cylinder with brake fluid to check for leaks, and start mocking up fuel cell then electrical harness.
Thanks for following, Merry Christmas more to come!

Well the electrical has begun. Stripped it more down and removed all the unnecessary wires. Then threw it onto the truck and see what goes where. All wires are near the correct sensors, still needs more clean up and some protective sheathing. And still need to add battery/alternator/starter/ignition harness.

Minor update. Electrical is almost done, wrapped in sheathing. Then I made a gauge cluster for my LUVLEE and wrapped in carbon wrap. Used some equus gauges and autometer boost gauge and black one is innovate wideband. Still need to work on battery starter and interior connections. Driveshaft is in the making. Thanks to Jeremy Nutt for helping me on the electrical portion, I think I have everything to make it start for the first time in a couple of years.

Getting closer to starting this. Few more items like ignition wiring, gauges wiring, driveshaft install and fluids. Wiring has been tough but great help all around. Shifter installed and gauges lighted up. Hopefully next update will be video walk around and engine start.

Can this be, it's on the ground with wheels! Thanks for everyone's help so far. Next exhaust and tuning for cruise.

Exhaust done and wrapped; o2 & wideband sensors installed. Issues now I have is high idle (possible vac leak), battery not being charged by alt (maybe bad grounding), leak at drain plug of radiator. Most are easy fixes so should be on the road soon...more to come.

Your getting close to cruising around in her.
Love the LUV!!!! :thumb:

Cruzin' in my 7 8... Hittin' the boost!
Around the block. So far no over heating issues after new bigger rad install. Need to do a cruise tune once it's registered and insured. Can't wait to take on the streets.
Car show pics coming up this week.

Here is a vid of me cruzin!

Had to double check, I see a black stepside luv on my way to work frequently and thought it might be you. Then I looked and saw Lake Stevens is only like 340 miles away haha.

Loving the build man!

@Ludachris
Hey Chris, I couldnt figure how to change my title in my profile. Could you change it from "78 Chevy Luv Build thread with a 4G63t (soon)" to "78 Chevy LUV Build w/ 4G63T" ?

thanks
Matt

I forgot to add my Throwback Thursday and Wheel Wednesday last week Pics from my page. Since no new updates. Throwback is exactly 3 years apart.

Well Sunday my wifey and I strapped down LUVLEE to make way to English Racing down in Camas. About a 4 hour drive or so. And Monday we made in and wow all these beautiful cars everywhere. Headed in to English Racing for a dyno tuning.
Thanks to Aaron and Jeff for some pointers on my next mods but this horsepower will keep me happy as a daily driver. Thanks to my wifey Ruth for being there throughout my LUVLEE project. Video and horsepower numbers will be coming up in a few.

Small video on my old Gopro. Made 262 HP to the wheels, and perfect driveability. Thanks again to Aaron on the tuning!
Run down: v3 1g ecmlink, 880cc injectors, pump gas 92, 255 inline pump, th350 with 4200 stall converter, old skool bullseye 50 trim turbo (size of 35r power of 16g LOL), built block, stock cams, small intercooler.

I need something like this - a cool small truck with a swap. Something I can use to haul things here and there and not care about it getting beat up a little. The thing is, here in CA it has to be 1975 or older to be emissions exempt, and there isn't much available for sale that isn't a pile of shit. Love what you've done with this truck.
