I'm wondering if anybody has any experience with the silicone radiator hose kits from Amazone. These kits include all of the coolant lines all over the engine. I just got mine and haven't yet installed it and am wondering if anyone else here has had a set on their car for a while and what their experience with the kit is. If you don't have one of these kits on your car, I'm sorry to sound rude but, I don't really need your opinion. Thanks in advance all.

I have those "G Plus" hoses from Amazon/eBay and they've been holding up fine for about 3 or 4 years. I have the whole kit on one car and just the rad hoses on another. Theyre good quality 4 layer silicone.
Don't fall for the $150 rad hose ruse. Nowadays quality silicone hoses and couplers can be found for cheap.

I also had the g plus silicone hoses..on my car it seemed a few hoses were a little long like water pipe to oil cooler and to heater core just minor trimming. Other than that seemed a little close to the shifter weight. But good quality product I would recommend/use again. Thank you for your time, Jason Penny

I have the g-plus as well. Have been using them on at least 5-6 of my personal dsms which all are still using them with great results. They are long on purpose so when you trim it, it’s a perfect fit.

But with confidence. The eBay aluminum radiators are awesome too.

I just bought and installed the GPlus kit with silicone vacuum lines on my fresh build and the only issue I have is with the clamps. I hate that they include cheap wormscrew style clamps with silicone hoses, but I also understand that you get what you pay for and you can't expect good clamps with a $65 full hose kit.

Overall though, I would definitely buy this kit again.

Hey! Thanks Everybody! I really didn't think I'd get much response since I couldn't find any posts concerning this kit using the search function. This was exactly what I was hoping to hear. Now when another owner does a search here they'll probably find this. I'll try to shoot a video of the installation and post about it when I get a chance to do it.

I'm just curious as to what clamps other users have put on. Since my build still isn't in service, I've been looking to different options but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Leaning towards t-bolts, but my wallet is hopeful there's a cheaper route :idontknow:

I've used 3 different sets. 2 were gplus and 1 was unbranded 4ply. Ive also used 5 sets on different Honda's. All of them have been great on every vehicle

Pro-tip. Cut your old heater hoses off of the heater core. Dont bother to try to remove them as you could damage the heater core piping. Use a good box cutter and slice the old heater hoses down the center long ways for results.

I like the OEM clamps best. I always save the small ones whenever I get them from wherever........for the mains I just ordered 4 evo8 clamps from JNZ. They are black and are 100% better than the dreaded worm gear clamps.

I also prefer the OEM clamp over any worm clamp. They are constant tension clamps & won't cut, pull & pinch the hose when tightening like the worm clamps.

Up until 2 weeks ago I would wholeheartedly agree. I would recommend CX racing as the best "eBay rad" out of the 4 I have. The rest are pretty much identical without markings. I got a no name one for my Jeep XJ to replace the wimpy stocker and after 2 years it suddenly started to fail. Luckily I caught it in time. My rad was completely empty and a nice coolant puddle on my garage floor. Upon further investigation it appears as if the seams on the end tanks just gave up, they're seeping coolant everywhere. I was surprised at the sudden rapid failure and now I'm super paranoid about the rad in my Tsi. Even though I'm not a big fan of mishimoto products I plan on dropping one in next year. They're only $213 shipped from multiple sellers and at this point I think it will give me piece of mind.

Just a heads up to keep an eye on those eBay rads! As with any "knockoffs" some are good some are bad!

I disagree with the use of any aluminum end tanked radiator in the engine bay of a dsm. The aluminium radiates heat into the bay and increases under hood temperatures. The upper aluminum tank gets heat soaked and you just end up with tons of heat just locked in under the hood between the turbo and the radiator. Even the mishimoto radiator fitment is crap. Basically I think it's a waste of cash. Better off using thermal blankets on your exhaust housing and manifold

You really want a more effecient cooling system just change the temperature settings of your oem fans

As far as clamps go the constant tension clamps are the way to go especially on stock plastic radiators. Then it's just worm gear clamps I'd never use t bolt clamps they suck. Ams had a great article on their site comparing t bolts to worm gear. I've always used worm gear clamps on intercooler piping without any issues. But constant tension clamps is where it's at just very expensive.
