Is there any way to install an AFPR on a 2G without having to trim the timing cover? There's very little room between the rail and the mid-cover..

I just bought and installed a brand new timing cover set for this motor and the last thing I'm going to do is cut into it. I'd rather spend more money on an aftermarket rail than cut into it...

Can someone point me in the right direction here? :idontknow:

Probably should have mentioned I chose to use a pushlock style fitting in the MAP kit. Don't know why, but it seemed like a good idea at the time...

I looked on the vibrant site and couldn't find anything with a tight radius pushlock

***Edit... I'm just going to buy the tight AN fittings and some new AN hose. The pushlock can sit on the shelf until I find a better use for it..

I recall cutting the timing cover when I installed my original Aeromotive A1000, but I didn't do any cutting with this most recent install. The kits looked identical so I don't know what was different. It was a very tight fit with the included AN elbow, but no cutting required. Maybe I angled it differently? I'll see if I can get a picture or something after work.

Welp.. I'm an idiot..

I just looked over my invoice and even though I specifically remember selecting an install kit for a 2G, it must not have saved the selection properly.. the kit I got is for a 1G :ohdamn:.

Looks like the 2G install kit has a 45 instead of the 90 which easily clears the timing cover. Ordering the proper install kit now...

You can try get away with a forged 90° but even then it might still foul xepending on brand. I opted for a side banjo setup, its super tight and zero trimming required.

I ordered the tight radius 90 and some AN line from Summit racing, should have it in hand on Wednesday and will update if there are clearance issues. Still can't believe i ordered the wrong one to begin with :banghead:

hey man some times it happens, just next time go over the order a few times to make sure its correct LOL

Another option is to find a cheap 1g fuel rail, it bolts onto the 2g head but it's shorter on the timing belt side and allows more clearance for AN fittings.
This is why I need to stop ordering things.. I could've went to Performance Partout and picked one up cheap. Oh well.. live and learn
