So i bought an eclipse 1998 gst, when you star the car with the clutch pressed it does a weird noise like grinding and a soon as i the car is started i let go of the clutch and the sound go away, never to come back unless the clutch is pressed again. I was able to take it to a spin even if the realease was very close to the floor. The slave broke so i putted in a new one and it's still there when the clutch is pressed all the way down only difference is that i cant disengage it all the way with new slave for some reason. Also when looking at the belhousing window, the fork is not centered, it's passenger side. Some friend think it's the T.O bearing

Yes the noise is the T.O. bearing (or clutch disk not completely releasing from pressure plate {PP}). If the clutch fork is on the passenger side of center (in the bell housing window), the fork will not have enough throw to fully disengage the PP from the clutch disk. This can be due to an incorrect flywheel step height (or incorrect flywheel), wrong PP/clutch unit, worn pivot ball, or bent fork. Lengthening a slave or master rod (or adjusting/replacing the master/slave) will not help as the fork physically cannot move far enough (it's resting/starting position is wrong). Many people put shims under the pivot ball to correct for this. Either way the tranny will have to be pulled to correct the problem.

The car was running fine before with the previous owner so i guess it's not the flywheel or the pressure plate and clutch combo but i will probably change them as i have brand new of PP and disk
