Hi everyone

I have an automatic gst (first time) with the OD switch Stock in. (Constantly in overdrive) can’t get it out. Dont know if it matters at All.

But my question is:

I never understood what the L and the 2, does on the gearstick and how/when do i use this?

Regards
Chris

Chris, L is 3rd and 2 is second and the O/D button is for 4th. I would take the shifter apart and find the spring that loads the button and get it to be useable. Don't want to burn her up inadvertently. :)

DAM..........I sure screwed that one around, THANKS!
Soooo, Yes, cough cough,,,,,,
L = Low
2 = 2nd
D = 3rd

Dam I hate giving out stupid info, excuse my retardedness...........
I feel like an idiot, sometimes it shows!
I appreciate you pickin up my slack........... :)

Okay. But i always start in drive does that mean i start in 3rd everytime?

What about the overdrive which is Stock ? Does it hurt the transmission ?
drive is going to run through the gears if its all stock. and if the car is completely stock should be ok in overdrive. i know that when you put a larger turbo and start making more power its not a good idea to try to do pulls in overdrive.

The car is completely Stock. But do I put the Keys in the ignition and then put in L and Then open it up. ? Else i can’t get to the screw ‍♂️

I dont even know How to race and automatic What is the Best Way ?

You just start in drive... d does not mean 3rd it means your transmission will pick an appropriate gear. L is usually for if your stuck. You do not need to start the car in L then go to 2 then d if that's what you asked. It's a AUTOMATIC transmission if only seen people use L and 2 when raceing (to try and get more revs) otherwise just use D.

Okay thanks. I will try to fix the OD switch and the only Way I can get to it, is to put the gear in L. But before I will do it i wanted to make sure I didn’t do something that might could hurt the transmission. But thanks for All the answers. I do not race the car at all. Just normal driving

automatic manual on my dsm

Why not just leave it alone??? if the overdrive is working I would just leave it alone unless you feel you need to turn it off for some reason such as your towing something.
