Because we don't have enough cars as it is. Originally we went to buy the wheels off this car. It was a friends car that he never finished and decided to part out. My girlfriend wanted the wheels for her spyder, but being a 9" RPF1 with a +35 offset they wouldn't clear her brembo's. So instead we purchased the whole car so my buddy wouldn't part out such a nice chassis. I had a bunch of leftover stock parts from my 1g that were never going back on my car, so we used everything from my car to basically revert it back to stock. We put A/C and power steering back in the car, cruise control, threw on my thermal exhaust and evo ecu. This was the "daily" to replace the prior 3 daily's my girlfriend currently has (2g, evo, GSXR).

The plan is to keep it pretty mild. I needed suspension so a new set of D2's were thrown on. It may get some 16g parts off her spyder when we upgrade to an HTA68. FMIC, and some e85 at most. It's a solid daily with enough power to move out of it's own way as it is.

Shift box and paddles came in. I'll be keeping the stock tcu in the car for now, so a forced four basic 2 was fine with me. I was just looking for something to run the paddles the factory TCU will handle daily driving. In typical fashion for my cars I have an evo 8 steering wheel to put in with the evo X paddles. The original plan was to toggle the paddles off a 3g shifter. Moving the 3g shifter into paddle mode would activate both the 3g paddle and the steering wheel paddles. I really hate the look of the 3g shifter though so I'm keeping an eye out for a shifter thats more ascetically appealing. For now this will just be triggered by a switch. I hate the factory TCU shift points so this should add some fun to the car while allowing for a friendly daily driver when needed.

Love it! I wouldn't have let it go either.

My internet has been weird lately and it wouldn’t let me post an update. Made a quick run to the junkyard today, the car is in need of front brakes but I wanted something better than the single piston factory calipers. Lucky for me an 06 outlander made it to the yard last week. Grabbed the front calipers, centric high carbon rotors on order and I’m debating between hawk HPS pads or carbotech AX6.

I was able to get the evo steering wheel in as well. Haven’t had time to finish the paddle shifters or shift box but that’ll be next.

Trying to find a color to powdercoat these brakes in that doesn’t clash with the purple wheels or look out of place on the car turned out to be a challenge. We didn’t want to do them purple because they’d blend in a little too much and nothing else seemed fitting without sticking out too much. Decided to stop at O Reilly’s and see what they had for rattle can to get an idea of what we wanted. After going through endless choices this color shift can caught my eye. $22 for a little can of it but figured I’d give it a shot. I think they’ll look cool behind the purple RPF1s! These are not different calipers in the picture, that’s just from shifting the angle of the sun on them.

I had a chance to wash it and the evo this weekend as well. Naturally it’s supposed to rain tomorrow and Tuesday

Been a while since I've updated this. Up until recently it's just been daily mode and haven't really done much to it. I recently had a friend/customer with a 1g we installed a bunch of parts on, decide he wanted to sell the car and returning it to stock would be the easiest way to sell it. I ended up trading him all my stock parts for his aftermarket. Since I was the one who installed everything on his car I knew what kind of shape everything was in which worked on great. I also picked up a new turbo setup for it so the 14b will be retired from this car and probably make its way onto my 4g swap mighty max.

All said and done I ended up with an FP green, ETS race FMIC, FIC1000cc high impedance injectors, Plug and play SD setup, mishimoto x-line radiator, innovate MTX-L, and an evo 8 ecu in a 1g harness and ecu. I had to modify the intercooler piping since his car was a manual and mine is an auto, as well as my car has ABS which made routing a nuissance.

Modified ETS, I hate how short their inlet pipes are. These are extended to enter into the bay just past the radiator.

Fabbed UICP. Ill probably change this down the road. Im not 100% satisfied with fitment and I hate how many junctions I used to make it work. Ill be upgrading to a tial BOV down the road too, so I'll probably build a new one then.

The black anodizing is awesome for a more subtle look. Almost can't tell its there.

And the maiden journey. I put the trans cooler where the stock side mount was, but I must've nicked it with the cut off wheel when I was cutting a bracket off, so I put the stock cooler in the side mount location for now while I wait for the new one to come in. I still need to install the radiator and I'll be converting to either a pusher spal AC fan or if space allows a puller SPAL. It's already getting hot in AZ and the AC is a must have so I'll keep it at all costs.
