I just received my mishimoto fans and shroud and I noticed this little clip on one of the fan blades, only on one fan. I was about to toss it but I'd figure I'd ask if anyone else had this.

Also to anyone using this shroud did you actually use the included weatherstrip? Seems kinda cheap not sure if the adhesive holds up. One other thing, though not a question but rather a complaint. I am very disappointed at the childish welds (they are made in China afterall) on the mounting tabs. Absolutely terrible. One of my tabs isn't even welded on straight. My $100 ebay radiator's welds look amazing in comparison. I expected better quality. Nuts.

If you bought them new, contact mishimoto directly. They will replace the fan under warranty and usually don’t even require sending the old unit back.

The clip on the fan blade is for balancing. There are much more aesthetcally pleasing ways of balancing that assembly but clips are a legitimate way to do it. Certainly leave it on there.

Use the included rubber strip. The purpose is to seal the shroud to the radiator so the fans draw air through the fins, not around the sides of the shroud. It'll stick to the shroud well enough when installing, then be pressed between the shroud and radiator once installed. While cheap feeling, it works just fine.

I've had a Mishimoto fan and shroud setup on my car now for a couple of years and it's been great. You'll be happy with your purchase. I also tapped into the ECU and wired a toggle inside the car so I can turn them on directly if I want to.
