What in the shit! I don't mean to disrespect the vendor but that's just ridiculous. I could literally CAD those brackets up in a few hours and have them laser or water cut for under $20 along with the material.

I guess people will pay anything so long as they like what they see, but still.

Nothing wrong with MAP. I purchase from them as needed. If you don't like MAP's pricing get them from STM.

After spending time around the STD guys over the years I am definately not a fan of them or their products, those brackets are copies/knock off's of the Hyamie (however its spelled) from years back, Im not into stealing others parts and passing them off as your own.

Yeah. Let’s start a thread on every part we find made for our cars that we feel is overpriced. That’ll help. Let’s “stay away from” every vendor that offends our budget (cheapness), and we’ll drive them out of the DSM parts business. Perfect.

If your b**t hurt over a vendor, save your criticism for when you have an alternative to provide. “I’ll make it myself” is fine, but don’t fool yourself that your time is not part of the calculation.

I would like to come to this forum to help build this DSM network, not hear whining.

I've found that MAP has the worst prices among the DSM vendors. I'm guessing they up the price then hound you every day about the latest 5% sale or the less frequent 10% sale that brings you back down to the regular price.

If you want to know why it's $145 then just look at the generation of DSM it's for and that tells you everything.

I'm just thankful we still have vendors.

FWIW, I bought the following items from MAP over the years where the competition couldn't even come close to their prices:

Carillo H beams with CARR bolts - 875 shipped
Torque plate - 243 shipped
Billet GSC S3 - 379 shipped

Not saying they're our best vendor, but try and find those prices elsewhere. Hell you could be paying 35k for a built trans like the GTR guys.

I've ordered my aem afpr kit from MAP and it was the best price at the time. The problem is STMs MSRP of the product. Utterly ridiculous. Those sickspeed brackets are nice too, and jmf makes $75 brackets- pricey but at least the rubber bushing is different. Quite frankly I like mine which are OEM spray painted gloss black a few years ago. I think I paid $3 for the socket head cap bolts from fastenal.

How DSM people have done things since 1989.

If you'd like to boycott an overpriced item, you're free to not buy it. Alternatively, you could ask the manufacturer why their item is priced accordingly.

Unless there's a problem with the item that doesn't have to do with its price, it doesn't belong here on the forums.
