I want to add there are four sellers using the part number MR296099, but none are using MR296693 as stated in the Mitsubishi catalog.

There is also a guy on eBay supposedly selling these parts without using any part numbers.
At least, the photographs show the parts and they correspond to the parts I need.
There is even a photograph showing the factory box, but it is different than the usual Mitsubishi Motors Genuine Parts box.

"What is the part number?"

Then he said:
"No part number supplied or needed as these are the correct parts for the cars listed, thanks for asking"

This response gives me bad vibes.
The fact that the photograph of the factory box is tiny while the other two photographs are huge does not help.

This all seems fishy to me.
What do you guys think about this?

I agree that the box isn't typical and that not having a part number is a bit sketchy. That being said, mine are factory and say "GROTE 8109 SAE OR 96 DOT" across the bottom of the lens as well as the "E11 00231" and "e11 0231" on either side of the screw on top. If I were in your position I'd order them and once I received them make sure that the lens match the photo and if they don't start a eBay dispute saying part isn't as described.

I have had my fair share of that.
I do my utmost trying to avoid wasting time on having to go through a dispute again.
That is why I am asking you guys.
Maybe one of you have the Mitsubishi software so you can check out the part numbers for these parts?

I also need to add that I do not want parts that are cheap knock-offs.
This is what I am thinking about the part sold by this guy who refuses to give me the part number and uses a tiny photograph of the factory box.

Can anyone shed some light on the part numbers, please?

It is too expensive making phone calls to the USA.

Those lens's in the pictures show that they are Grote parts. I have bought from him before and it was genuine Mitsubishi parts, look at his feedback numbers, lots of feedback with a pretty high score.

However, it is a well-known fact that a lot of sellers use photographs that do not show the actual product they are selling.

Instead, the parts numbers for these parts are MR162483 and MR162484.

The part number MR296099 is not there either.
Instead, the part number for this part is MR296693.

Yes, those are from North America ASA. The part numbers could vary by country. I checked a few sites and they don't recognize MR162483 and MR162484, so unless that's a typo I would bet on a country difference. I'd check but I don't have the other versions of ASA installed on my computer at the moment.

The catalog I am using is region free as far as I know.
What about MR296693?

Sometimes part numbers get replaced (superseded) with other part numbers. A slight revision may have been made like a different manufacturer or improvement.

As for the eBay seller, Quiksilver. I’ve dealt with them a few times. Good stuff. OEM as far as I know. I got my center tail piece emblem lettering from there if I remember right.

I’ll look that number up and report back.

MR296693 on Google reports back as a Mitsubishi Lamp Kit, Backup. But most of the sites that come up with it look to be non-US based. So, it’s probably a stock number for it in a different country.

I am thinking this is an older number that was replaced.
This is usually shown in the catalog though.

As I suspected, it's a region difference. ASA Europe shows the following:
MR154561 = 2ga left hand reverse lamp only
MR162483 = 2ga left hand reverse lamp kit
MR154562 = 2ga right hand reverse lamp only
MR162484 = 2ga right hand reverse lamp kit

MR300588 = 2gb reverse lamp only (fits both sides)
MR296693 = 2gb reverse lamp kit (fits both sides)

North America describes the kit as "12V-27W" and Europe describes it as "12V-21W". The bulbs are different in the kits, probably based on different regulations per region.

Thank you for the information.
This explains everything.
I guess I can no longer use the online catalog I am using if I want to have 100% correct parts for my car.
It does not indicate anything about being a catalog for Europe though.
