Is it just me or are all the 2G FMIC kits disappearing? I can't even find the SSAC/VRSF style anymore. There is ONE on ebay for $350 shipped and I'm straight up not paying that much. The only style I can find are the terrible Greddy style ones.

Is there a massive backorder I don't know about, or are all these vendors just gonna stop making them and carrying them?

Honestly, 350 sounds pretty damn cheap. im used to seeing 500 to 1000 for a decent FMIC kits.

Yeah. After much debating I just bought it. They are freakin' nowhere man. Not even used. The used kits I found are still $300-$350 used. Screw it. Lol. If they pop back up in a month for $175 I'll kick myself in the ass but eh. Oh well.

Do you really want a cheap non efficient core? Theres plenty of ebay kits im sure do same job as the ssac's kits

My GVR4 ETS kit was 4 digits, not including the cents and you bi***'n bout tree fitty LOL

Consider yourself lucky. The very statement that suggests 350 Is high is why vendors are disappearing.

Couldn’t have said it better. People want to say our vendors parts are too expensive then get even more upset when they stop supporting the platform. I had a gvr4 kit as well and was $1550 after core upgrade and coating.

I take it you aren't familiar with SSAC, the ones who pioneered the kit that VRSF is now hawking for $350 plus j-pipe? For years, as long as I can remember even up until last year, they were $175 including shipping on eBay. VRSF uses the SAME EXACT KIT and marks it up for $350 plus shipping. This is what I was referring too. You guys jump to conclusions here kind of hilariously. I'm not afraid to spend money for a quality part.

An eBay china intercooler core that's cheap as hell, is not a quality part I'm going to normally pay double it's regular price.

Congrats. Would you like a cookie? People have made serious power on the SSAC/VRSF 2G kits with IATs nominal. It's not like your average 2" thick universal "intercooler".

Regardless, everyone's reading comprehension apparently sucks here. I mentioned several posts above that I already bought the kit in question. Case closed. Then again if you actually read you wouldn't be able to post a dick measuring douche-bag post on the internet. ;)

I bought mine from punishment years ago, still holds up and they are still selling them for just about the same price they've been selling them for. Unfortunately this is a dying platform, which means parts will be more scarce. Alot of us are thankful for these freelancers making custom parts and vendors that are still supporting the platform. You have to pay to play at this point.

That was my number two choice, but they're out of stock as well. You can't find them on eBay either. It's like they don't exist anymore. Either one. The Punishment style or VRSF style. I apparently bought the last one. Lol.

Seriously? Bummer, hopefully they do come back. It seemed like they where everywhere like 5-6 months back.......My car had been stored for years so when I got back into it recently and started looking for parts, I remember thinking it was pretty cool to still see that kind of support those years later...and the price was stupid low......some of the stuff isnt as easy to come up with as it used to be, but its going to be a long long time before parts being tougher to find stops us from coming up with ways to still get it done and have tons of fun with these cars.

My son just received his NEW 2g VRSF unit Friday so they are still supporting us, at least.

I've been wanting an ETS street intercooler for years and started looking into them again in earnest when I purchased my GSX in January, but I can't find piping for it anywhere. I am tempted to buy the Punishment kit and see if I can find anyone who wants to buy a BNIB Punishment intercooler for cheap. I've done the "build your own" pipe thing in the past. Never again.

What frustrates me is that I'm perfectly willing to pay four digits for a good kit but they just don't exist anymore. I've been trolling the Facebook classifieds and every time an intercooler kit or a box of miscellaneous pipes gets listed they are snatched up in a few minutes. It seems like there is still sufficient demand for these products and if they are made to order like ETSs kits always were, I don't see why it would be beneficial for them to discontinue it.

This is why I have a box full of IC piping from probably five different kits. Because its becoming so hard to find. I also can't get a kit outside of PR that allows me to keep the stock fog lights, which I really want to keep. So I'm forced to only use a mid level kit for my build due to that, even though I would also be willing to shell out serious coin for a better one.

350 is cheap anymore. Our platform is old now the knockoff companies have newer platforms to make cheap parts for now. Then there's the fact that the majority of builds now on these old ass cars are so far from stock that most piping is custom made with a regular core.
You want cheap parts there's an easy way to get them you make them. I built all my piping and exhaust. The most expensive part was buying and learning how to tig LOL but hey it all fits my car perfectly.

Maybe he bought the last one, it came from VRSF. I do see they are Out of Stock on it right now. I helped him with his this weekend, came with all the fittings, couplers and the intercooler for his 95 Talon.

I see Punishment Racing's intercooler kit is also out of stock but they have a pipe only kit listed now. I don't know when that was added or if I just managed to miss it the first 50 times I perused their website, but I guess I'm forced to buy all of this now before everything disappears completely.

-edit-

Ordered.

I bought an ETS street kit few years back. Wasn’t cheap, but I wasn’t mad. I ended up grabbing probably one of the last (to my knowledge) j-pipes so I’ll be straight when I upgrade the turbo.

Probably has to do with Trump's trade war with China and all the new import taxes and tariff increases, not to mention the increase taxes on metal. The price of raw materials have been skyrocketing lately.

IC kits used to be dirt cheap and doing a quick check on eBay shows those kits now in the $500 range.

Lets try and keep stupid ass political opinions off of the car forums please, we would all appreciate that mmmmkay??

Taking politics out of it still doesn't change the fact that the once cheap China imports are being inflated because of everything...

I do Fab work on the side and I see the increase in pricing for raw materials. There is no denying that.

With that said, apparently Honda intercoolers are still dirt cheap around the $150-200 range.

If you used good AMERICAN steel(which might cost a little more but is far superior in quality), I don't think this would be an issue.. ;)...
What are you even talking about? Are we even on the same page? What issue are you taking about? Price increases is on both import an domestic raw materials....
