My car has been mostly sitting the past number of years, but I try to drive it about once a week. I don't have a garage, so it sits outside. I used to keep it under a factory car cover that the original owner included when I bought it, however it eventually ripped in several places, and I ended up throwing it away. As expected, the paint and exterior in general have taken a beating from being exposed to the sun and elements. The interior is in much better shape because the windows are tinted and I put one of those sunshade things on the windshield. I also use covers on the tires to minimize the damage from the sun.

Anyway, I want to buy another car cover to minimize further damage until that one day that I finally have a garage again (which is when I plan on getting it re-painted). I looked online, but the only direct fit cover that I could find is by Cover craft, and costs about $230. Anybody have any recommendations for a cheaper, general fit type cover that fits ok with the high spoiler?

Go on ebay and look at the motor trend car covers they have a lock cable and its uv and heavy snow protected it about 30 bucks. I have been looking for awhile and decided to get this one.

I REALLY like my MODA car cover. Only reason I got it was because I came across it during the season at Costco. And Costco ALWAYS has nice things. I think I got it for like $30-$40 and it's the size Medium. They have a chart where you can look up your vehicle to make sure what size to get. It's all season proof as well. I love it. Just like you, I don't have a garage or even a driveway so it's just parked curbside with the car cover always on it because I rarely drive the car.

I ended up getting the cheapest Budge cover at Walmart (it cost about $22). I got the recommended size 3, and although it's a little big, it fits fine and hasn't blown off yet. It has grommets on the bottom of both sides where you can put a cable lock, but I just used a bungee cord.

We use the same one. First one lasted 3 years, and then started tearing. Another $30 and got a new one.

Keep in mind 2 things: 1) It is not waterproof, just water resistant. Rain and moisture will get through the cover, but the upside is that the moisture vents back up through the cover, so you won't get something strange and green growing on your car. 2) The elastic on those wants to wrap under the exhaust tips. Wait until the tips are cooled down, otherwise you will melt the elastic band.

I highly recommend the OxGord Executive Storm-Proof Car Cover. Ordered it from Amazon a year ago for $100. It's really worth the money.

I run a direct fit with the mirror pockets from CoverCraft. I have both the cable lock and the gust guards for it as well as the wheel covers. It does help with the heat and light rain. Though, if it’s a down pour, nothing is stopping the rain.

I can send the cover in to them for a free re-stitch. Sometimes the wind can get down right brutal and pull at the seaming. I have the same cover on my daily car as well.

I had used one from Pep Boys years back that costed half of my CC one. Didn’t last long, ended up ripping sadly. I keep it as a spare.
