HI I am trying to get some idea's to lower intake air temps. My profile is acurate, I have a huge tranny cooler where the side mount use to be. I have the vrsf short route fmic and I'm using the stock maf with an injen intake pipe. The only other place is maybe cutting a hole in my hood or maybe add a vent to force air.

How is your exhaust? I'd blanket the manifold and turbine housing, and wrap the downpipe with DEI.

Depending on how far forward your tranny cooler is, duct from the foglight hole to under the filter, then box it off.

If room is the issue, move trans cooler to passenger side and do the above.

His Trans cooler is already in the passenger side.

OP - Do you have the stock air box top? I just recently reinstalled that with a $13 oem filter. And spent some money in lowes / home depot to throw together some front bumper ducting directly to the air filter.

There is a nice 4" spot under the filter. Not trying to thread jack. But I feel like this is relevant.

I have a 2gb talon bumper. Which in essence, resembles the 2ga bumper MORE than the 2gb Eclipse bumper.

So I actually have to switch out the front circular cup for the rectangle one to fit my specific front bumper better.

Pictures are awesome thank you, I forgot to add that I also managed to stuff a 10" fan behind the tranny cooler so things are a little tight. I spent a little more time with it last night and I think I am going to remove the fan and add ducting plus cut an opening under the air filter. I'll figure something out, thank you guys.

What if I told you the iat temperature reading is complete bull sh** because it's a temperature reading provided pre turbo, and pre intercooler, and has minimal effect on actual performance because it's wildly inaccurate for actual intake temps

I'd say you're wildly uneducated in how lower pre-turbo/supercharger intake temps can have a pretty significant effect on a FI setup as a whole...

Id say you have no idea how speed density setups work and why a mass air flow sensor is extremely inadequate for engine tuning

Considering we're talking about intake air temps (i.e.- at the intake), this post doesn't seem relevant to the subject of the thread. OP asked about getting his intake temps lower, and alluded to getting more cool air to the air filter area, not about how speed density or a maf system work or which is better.
Referring to the iat sensor itself is a totally different argument.

If you want colder air at the filter, build a box around it and seal it off from the rest of the bay. Use cardboard as a template and stick toothpicks in the top so when you shut the hood they push down to the contour of the hood. You can also enlarge the hole where the stock IC piping comes through to promote more air flow into the custom enclosure.
