So, I'm racing this weekend at NJMP. There's a chance I might have to change to my spare trans at the track cause of an issue I have with 4th gear. Not a definite, but a possibility of the trans can't make it both days I'm at the track. I ordered DiaQueen gear oil, but it's not going to get to me before I head to the track. So my question is, IF I have to do the swap and IF the oil doesn't get to me in time, what gear oil can I pick up at the local parts store that will hold up to racing. I know the pickings are slim, but what do you guys think?

I would probably go with royal purple if they have it. If not then I would look for Lucas. Then Valvoline. Just don't get any synchromesh.

If only you were closer. I have some Diaqueen I could pass off to you.

If your Diaqueen doesn't show in time I would source some Redline MT-90 or their MT-85 75W85 GL-4 Gear Oil only.

Why would you look for it at the auto parts stores. Around me it's fairly easy to find at my local machine shops & speed shops.

I think what the OP is asking is in a pinch, what is the best Autozone/o'reilly/Advanced gear oil. Not everyone has a speed shop close by, but most people have one of the top 3.

Yeah exactly. For those that aren't familiar with NJMP, it's pretty much in the middle of no where, so an AutoZone or advance is probably gonna be my only real chance of scoring anything at all.
