My 1990 Eagle Talon TSi...

123,000 miles, few paint chips and a few spots where bird droppings ate though the clear on the spoiler but otherwise straight body wise. No A/C, trans was rebuilt about 10,000-13,000 miles ago by Jacks Trans back in oooh.. August of 2007.

Some mods not listed are stuff like a partial aluminum under tray piece that covers from entire underside of the bumper area. PC680 battery, aluminum air box... though I'm thinking about doing it out of fiberglass, the aluminum heat soaks even with thermal reflective tape on it. I got a list of dates for almost everything that's been installed on it and maintenance records.

No idea what to price it at and depending on what it could realistically sell for (upper end) it may just be mine forever as I have to much time and money to let it go for like $3,000 that just wont happen. Pics in profile. A little dated but pretty close if it has the FMIC and CF hood.

The best thing to do is check the market, compare what you have to what other people are asking for a similar car and then decide what your bottom $$$ is without feeling like you were raped and add +1000 (start there with OBO)..

To be honest though, it seems not many people want to pay for a built car, most of them wait for the part out (Stock seem to sell before built cars)..

How do you have too much into a 16g setup?

You're asking what a 1g without ac on a 16g is worth?

Frankly I'd be suprised if you could even get $3k for it.

A lot goes into one of these things especially at their current age to have a nice clean example besides the turbo...I still have the A/C components and to be honest this years humid hot summer has me considering trying to re-install it.

Honestly you won't be able to get what you want out of it, been there, tried that.

@chrysler kid Just because its "only" a 16g setup doesn't mean there's not considerable investment. The cars are older, and take more than just a few bux and putting a few parts on.

@RipperXX What is the reason you want to sell? Honestly I'd keep it and make sure it stays clean and in good repair. When I considered selling mine, it put a knot in my stomach, and I'm glad I kept it. I keep getting new things I want to try. And it's still one of the most fun vehicles I've owned.

Yeah I know. I've bought and sold over 30 cars, 6 different dsm's, and never made a dollar selling a single dsm.

There's no market yet. It's still just a tuner car that people think of in the same category as a prelude or Integra. So you get lowballed by the same turds they are looking at integras and preludes

^^^You guys live in the wrong state. NY rust has destroyed most of the dsms. clean running, rust free dsms up here are worth quite a fair amount. I've been offered 10k for my car on a 16g setup, I only refused because of how hard it is to find them in my area. I'd expect ripper to probably get 4k or so pretty easily up here.

Yeah it's still a blast and capable of outperforming plenty of "fast" cars, it's reliable and well maintained too. But it's also gotten a bit harsh and without the A/C in the summer it's definitely a better morning and late evening / night time car...As to why I'm considering selling it. Few reasons, all minor in the big picture but I don't have the $$$ to do some of the things I want to it right now and if it were to suffer any sort of catastrophic failure I can't afford to repair it right now.

Wife, house payment, family vehicle payment, 3 kids etc. keeps the bank account pretty low, I have to scrape penny's to do anything to it. BUUUT it's sooo close to being "done" (yeah right) but all the major mods are done anyway. Now it's just little tinkery fiddly stuff. Like redo the intake air box out of fiberglass and add ducting to it from behind the fog light, properly setup the new light weight battery, make a uber awesome hood vent that ducts from the radiator to the hood, and finish the under tray under the bumper...as well as extend it back further at least halfway under the engine bay. Construct a quieter cat back, turns out aluminum is real loud, even when it's real thick...stuff like that.

*sigh*...I duno. When I have the time to work on it and money, to do things like I want too at the speed I want to, it's fun. But I feel like it's become more of a chore. I guess I should just shut up and enjoy it for what it is rather than looking at what it's not yet.

Yes sir, it is either that or sell the whole care for WAY less than you have into her, or part-out which adds the headache of removing parts and shipping..

I say keep that bi*** and send it..:hellyeah:LOL

I agree with the statement that there is no market for them yet. There will not be anytime soon either. By the time that our cars are rare enough to increase in value, the price of Evo's and their parts will have dropped enough that People will be buying those and fixing them instead.

It's sad to say, but the sad reality of it is that you can get a lot more parting these cars out than selling them whole. Which is why you see a ton of people doing that. They sell all the big parts and aftermarket stuff and then send the shell off to someone like miller.

It is a gift and a curse. We need the parts from these cars to keep ours running because so many of them are discontinued now. Yet it's killing another DSM to get those parts.

I had the harsh reality of this when like 4 of the 6 parts on my list of things to buy were discontinued and they were none left at any dealerships in the US. I guess it is rough to accept because it seems like such a short time ago when I was in highschool and could get any part I needed in stock.

We all just need to stick together and help each other out with what parts we can. And scavenge good stuff from local junkyards and pull a parts. I have had an overwhelming amount of help with this from various people on here over the last month while I have been building my girlfriends 6 bolt. The community here is half the reason that I still own the car honestly.

I'm in a similar situation as you, except MUCH further away from project completion. At the end of the day, the car is already paid for. Even if it sits for a while, as long as you have space for it, I see no reason in getting rid of it as long as you still enjoy the car (which it sounds like you do). The funds will come in eventually, and it'll make the wait even more worth it. Never know, one day your kids might want to be a part of the project which will make holding onto that car even more worth it in the long run.

TLDR: shut up and enjoy it for what it is :thumb:

I know the feeling @RipperXX, I hit the same point with mine, and found a way to get past it.

Tight budget and limited time can be big factors, but in my mind you'd regret it if you ever sold it. Just my 2c.

I've had my gsx going on 11 years now. Its been a great journey and I've learned alot thanks to it. I've never thought about selling it but dont give it the attention it needs anymore.

After reaching my goal with the 16g I sold my mods and returned it back to stock. Definatelty not as fast as it was but I do enjoy the stock feel.

I did recently sell a 1993 eagle talon tsi with 130k miles no rust and upgraded parts, ecmlink, Full exhaust, speed density, vrsfc intercooler, upgraded fuel system and electronics for 7500. You have to find the right buyer though.

Had this car 15 years... crazy how the time goes by. I too have thought about returning it to stock as I have 98% of the stock parts even some hard to find ones like the factory ducting for the bumper cover etc. But I took it to work the other day. Drove like a grandpa the whole way, finally got into town, stupid traffic doing dumb things lead to me trying to get away from idiots and dropping the hammer. Forgot what 350awhp feels like in a 2850ish lb car. :hellyeah: Gotten used to the family car and my 50hp Mighty Max pickup I mean Ram 50. It put a smile on my face... and then several more on the way home when I took some wet back roads and got her sliding around for a min. :shhh:

Took a few logs too to work on that fine tuning, I think I may need to lower fuel pressure just a hair... and I occasionally get phantom knock once in a while when not in boost at low throttle which seems weird.

Dude, you better not. I will buy it and then swap a big block ford in it. Terribly. Then argue with everyone who tries to give me help after I cut the firewall out with no support.

That'll teach you.

Haha, I revisit that thread occasionally for the laughs.
The threat alone should be enough to dissuade parting with it!

I've thought about selling/parting mine as well, every time I do I just go for a drive and fall back in love with it. You just need to take time to enjoy it it seems, I know I do as well....if my pos would just run right LOL.
Hold In there and you'll be glad you did I'm sure of it.

Can you post a link? I forgot about it until Cracked posted. Can't seem to locate it.

P.S. It's good to see you're still around here Cracked.

HERE you go.

Thank you brotha. I took a little sabbatical from the DSM world for awhile, focusing on marriage and careers and sheet. Lol. You know how it is. But now I'm back with a 2G..and a manual transmission..that's going to have ECMLink in it...

God..where did I go so wrong in my life. :p If you woulda told me that years ago I'd have laughed you out of the building.
