I recently picked up a 14b turbo and parts for around 50-75 extra hp. The 14b doesn't have too much play but I was looking to rebuild it just as preventative maintenance.
I am new to the car scene, and I don't know too much.
My buddy told me that the compressor wheel on the T25 is nicer than the 14b compressor wheel (because of the double fins). He was mentioning that we could try to make a hybrid 14b with the T25 compressor wheel and turbine. I was thinking I could avoid the rebuild and make a more efficient turbo if I did this.
Is this possible? If so, is it worth it?

Honestly the way it sounds you're probably better off reaching out to one of the freelancers.
I've used a few of the turbolab kits without any issues. I'm not sure how good of quality over the long run. The parts look pretty good but as far as the quality of the metal used in the bearings I wouldn't know.

It appears your buddy is new to the turbo scene as well.

You can't mix and match parts between turbo brands any more than you can install SR20 pistons into a 4G63 block. Compressor wheel design and blade count is based on the compressor's trim and intended application (boost level). There is no "superior" compressor design for any one application.

Any recommendations for a 14b rebuild kit? As in, where can I get a good one
OEM parts unless you want to risk Chinese stuff. Factory Mitsu part number for the repair "kit" would be 49178-81110.

Don't take this the wrong way, but based on what I've seen posted in this thread so far you shouldn't be touching a turbocharger yourself unless you're fully-prepared for it to never work again.
