Hey guys hopefully someone sees this soon, just got home in my Talon and the brake lights won’t turn off, nothing changes if I turn the lights on or hit the brakes. The car is off and I even locked it and they’re still on. Someone help me out, probably isn’t safe to drive like this

Lay upside down on the driver side floor. Follow the brake pedal up looking for a switch. When the pedal is fully released it should contact a stopper to push the switch in (turns brake lights off) make sure that stopper is still there and not broken.

Okay man thanks for the info, if it is broke good thing I have another 2g next to it haha. I’ll update here soon

Looks like fuse #2 in the engine compartment box.

Try pulling the hazard light and tail light fuses as well. Factory wiring diagram is pretty hard to read but those 3 all feed the lights in different situations.

Okay so there’s like a blue spacer that’s wax I found on the floor broke, so the stopper isn’t telling it when to turn the brakes on. So I just have to adjust it

Problem solved man thank you!

Is the spacer you found like this? It just happened to me yesterday. What did you end up replacing to permanently fix the issue?

I just taped a penny onto the pedal. Was fine for 10 years. Doesn't get much cheaper than that. It's stupid that the hole for the stopper is just big enough to let the switch pass through. Great way for a broken piece of plastic to kill your battery and leave you stranded.

This image saved me some frustration LOL. Found shards of this on the floor as I was trying to figure out what happened. Going to autozone tomorrow to grab the part. Is it a simple plug and play install?

realized i was missing the OEM stopper for brake switch, i just used one of them sticky chair sliders and stuck it over hole. plenty of those laying around.

and yea i had my “Stop Lamp” fuse out for sometime before i got to the cause.
