My DSM is leak free but my Tiburon just developed a new leak

My oil pan is the only thing on my car that leaks, used grey right stuff rtv, had plenty of cure time on the stand, but it only puts like a quarter sized drop of oil on the ground after beating everyone

I discovered (thanks dsmtuners!!!) that trans oil leaking directly out of the yoke is a real thing. After replacing the seal 3 times, and still a leak, I thought I would have to live with it forever.

Now at least the floor stays pretty clean, but power steering and oil pan keep the motor 'glistening'

Never had any leaks on mine. However, I make sure to check/replace all the seals on the timing belt side when changing the belt itself. I always use OEM gasket/seals when they do get replaced.

Well mine was nice and leak free till I was working on my idle tune and had an oil cooler hose decide to blow apart. It's fixed now but damn a quart and a half of oil at 100 psi spraying out of a -8 hose makes a hell of a mess. It's still seeping from my radiator.

Thankfully my Tsi is leak free for now but I'm always checking and still keep some cardboard underneath. After I put the built motor in I had to go back and reseal the oil pan (what a bi*** to do under the car compared to on a stand) with right stuff. Never leaked since. I swear by that rtv. Also used the newer evo bolts on the drain tube and they work great!

I hate untreated oil leaks and neglectful previous owners. My other DSMs were coated in oil and sludge. Even after you replace something as simple as a valve cover gasket that's been leaking for 20 years you have to deal with removing all the sludge or it keeps dripping. My Jeep continues to do this. Plenty of cardboard.

mine is leak free and doesn't burn anything. My garage floor is seal coated so all the oil i dump while working doesn't leave spots :hellyeah:

Do you mean the t-case yoke? If so, there's an updated part you can get, had to do the same thing with mine.

I appreciate ppl with leak free dsms, mostly because it seems like an illusion or unicorn, and everyone needs a dream.
Mine leaks a time but everywhere: vc, front case, cas seal. Funny thing is it's in all the easy to reach places, all the hard to access places are none dry. My next one I'm aiming to make super clean tho.

To all you leak free dsms: I'm about to be pulling my motor and swapping a new one in... any tips toward leak free dsm before I drop that in?

Replace all gaskets and seals with OEM or equivalent parts. Also, let any sealants "cure" for 24 hours before adding additional fluid to the engine. It really not anything special to makes these things not leak. The main issue is just the age of a lot these cars/engines. Gaskets don't last forever.
