And still expensive!!!
I bought a set of 2g wheels and had no lug nuts so I ordered them from RockAuto, I think it was still 45 bucks.

Lol damn dude.

I remember I lost a 12mm deep well socket when I was wrenching in the engine bay, that thing grew legs or something because I could not find it anywhereeeeee

As soon as you replace the "lost" items, they ALWAYS show up......

I love getting out from under the car going and grabbing a new 10mm crawling back under the car and finding it right next to where I was just working. I get so much excitement from it haha

I lose that stupid socket more than anything else.
That's sooo funny. I had to clean the garage to make room for my 4g63 (as opposed to the "other" 4g63's in there) and my son that helps me all the time had been on the "hunt" for his too. I found it Sunday, months after he lost it.
We go to the pawn shop and buy extra 10 sockets and wrenches all the time, LOL.

I always find it hilarious for some reason when I work on my cars and find random sockets and wrenches that I never knew I lost L O L. I recently installed a FMIC on the gfs Spyder, and found 3 ratchet wrenches trapped on top of the bumper support by the previous owners. Needless to say...free tools for me! LOL

Not gonna lie I wish I had that many engines at my house to tinker with and I wish my child would help also but she is just an 8 year girl who could care less about cars but I'm trying to fix that. She loves riding with me in them and always wants to go fast but never wants to work on them. Until you said it I never really thought about getting extras from pawn shops. I don't know what it is about a 10mm socket and 12mm wrench but I can never finish a job without pulling my hair trying to find them

Damn Marty!! Not got milk, not got boost...but got motors!!!

There are 3 more in cars Tony. 2 6 bolts (one with FP2's) and a split thrust 7 in my 98 TSI. There is a aluminum head SBC in the other corner.
My neighbors "love" me......

Yeah, the pawn shop is the first place people that need money go, and they pawn tools first most of the time so check out your local shop. I get sockets for .10 cents and wrenches for .50. :shhh:
My son, the youngest (19), is a big help. He wants to help because I gave him a 90 GSX that needs a motor and transmission transplant from one of the other cars. He also helps me tune with Link on the fly. Very handy man to have with me! If the car is not running right, I tell him to give me more fuel or bump timing and he does it on the fly. Makes tuning easier and he learns so he can work on his DSM. :)

This all reminds me of just three days ago or so when I was working on installing my afpr. It was 103° outside and I was stressed the eff out running in and out grabbing different tools because I kept running into problems. Being that I have no driveway or garage, I didn't want to leave my tool box outside on someone else's lawn (my car was parked on the curb further up from my place, by a neighbor's house).

I go to grab ONE socket from my toolbox that was sitting on a chair inside. As I walk outside I hear a HUGE clatter of noise. Just so happened that EVERY single piece from my 153 piece mechanic's tool set fell out on to the kitchen floor and sockets rolled all over the place. How fun that was playing 153 pick up....:applause:

The worst part? I found 152 pieces, but my 1/4" socket is missing. Anyone with OCD like me in making sure all tools are placed where they should be understands what I'm talking about:banghead:

Some say that socket is still rolling away to this day...

Wow, never thought about buying tools at the pawn shop. Will definitely give that a try!

The 10mm and 12mm grow legs all the time I'm telling you LOL

That's awesome I love seeing family do stuff like that together. You seem like a great dad. I'll definitely check out the pawn shops though

I am just a Dad. I have GREAT sons! They keep me busy, I keep them busy! We all have DSM's and 3rd gen Camaro's. We drag race together, beat up the streets at the same time and every now and then test each other while we are out looking for trouble, LOL. I am blessed! :thumb: The oldest has a 97 Talon, he is 25. The youngest has his 90 GSX and he is 19, almost 20. We are 3 guys trying to tame muscle in our neighborhood!
The oldest is a member on here...

The youngest hasn't started his profile yet, but will real soon. Hoping to get his DSM running this summer too.

oh the dreaded 10mm socket LOL, I think i own atleast 5 of them, and 3 ratchet wrenches just to be safe. And thats my worry is the second I order new lugs I'm going to find them. I even cleaned the whole garage today and still nothing showed up! Some day down the road they're going to pop up and I'm just going to laugh my ass off.

Just wish I had a place to work on my shit besides the drive way. Garage is too full of shit to fit a car in there, and the lincoln is the way until I get that carbd 70s piece of gigantic turd moving.

Its so damn hot. I love messing with cars, but damn its hot. f*** the south and its summers that last 8 months.

I am right in the middle and I am griping too, and trying to do something about it
