I have no idea what throttle body this is. It came off of a 1g intake. For comparison it is next to a typical 1g throttle body. The throttle body in question is the one painted black.

Since you are here, I need some help installing a 2g head/intake in a 1g car

What is this sensor, and do I need it?

How are people attaching this plug?

That's a 1990 throttle body. You won't want to run that on a 91+ 1g without rewiring the ISC. The TPS will also need to be rewired in order to run it. If I were you, I would sell that one off & rebuild your 91+ 1g throttle body that you've got there. Steve over at www.throttlebodys.com might have a need for the 90 as a core.

As for the 2G on a 1g 6-bolt block, you will need to drill out 2 or 3 head stud/bolt holes, IIRC... the majority of them will fit, but the 2g head is designed for 11mm head studs/bolts, and the 1g 6-bolt block takes 12mm head studs/bolts.

That sensor on the 2g intake plenum is a MAP sensor. That is for a 2g natively, but you could use it to run Speed Density later on... If you're going to run a MAF setup for now though, you do not need to hook it up.

Be sure to open up the 2G plenum throttle body hole to match your 60mm 1g throttle body though... the 2g intake plenum is meant to match up with a 2g 52mm throttle body. Port the intake plenum to match the ID of a 1G throttle body gasket

You will need to transfer the 1g PTU (the black module with 5-7 pins on it, depending on year) over to the 2g intake somewhere... it doesn't really need to be mounted to it directly, but it should be grounded and secured properly

That's the factory MDP (manifold differential pressure) sensor. Our cars never came with a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor. The MDP cannot be used for any speed density application, but it can be replaced with a MAP sensor that will work with speed density.

Must be an OEM 2G thing... never the less, it's not needed in a 1g

Awesome! thanks everyone! think i should be good to go for now. Just got the intake manifold torqued down and the head torqued down. Excited to get this thing running! hopefully this weekend!
