Just wondering what price I would be looking at for a used genuine mhi 16g turbo with and without shaftplay. (So prices for both) There are a few threads about this but they are super old so I’m wondering what a good price for them in 2018 would be.
Didn’t know what part of the forums to put this in so I put it in the repairs because I would have to maintainence my car after putting the turbo on :idontknow:LOL
Sorry if this is in the wrong section

They usually go between 250 and 400 bucks depending on which 16g turbo you try and buy and where you buy it from. I've bought about 3 turbos in the last few months for different reasons and all worked great for around the 300 bucks range. Look around in the classefieds and fb pages there always good prices there. If you go new they cost around 1k. Also, they are usually cheaper without the exhaust housings on them, but you would have to have one on hand if you go that route for that cheap. Goodluck on finding a good turbo, and I highly recommend not to hesitate on spending on maintenance.

Do u think a genuine mhi 16g turbo that has shaft play and needs to be rebuilt $150 is a good deal? I don’t think it comes with the wastegate tho which confuses me on where it went:aha: a rebuild is $350 but I’d also have to buy a wastegate unless it’s just not on the turbo in the pics :idontknow: so if the wastegate isn’t with it I’d assume it isn’t a good deal because a new wastegate arm is $200 on extremepsi plus the rebuild would make it not worth it at all

That sounds expinsive. Some don't have wastgates becuase they either took it off to take off a bad exhaust housing that may have had a broken or stripped studd and or it probably broke. I just seen an Evo316g for sale 350 complete, can't beat that. Just look around and or wait until one pops up.
