I will reiterate my path.. Im sticking with the 420A platform Im going to build it for 15 lbs of daily boost by upgrading the rods and pistons, brian crowley stage 2 cams with a ported and polished head upgraded springs and retainers valves reseated.

Sending the block out for +.02 bore work, crank to get balanced.

I think that for what I want and what I will use this for as a daily driver during the summer only and for my ohio to update NY trips, I will have one hell of an amazing , fun and zippy ride with a proper tune running 91 oct or better with 15 lbs of boost, I will have a very very very fast ride, and none of the tuners around me will even be close except for the wrx and evo guys.. but to hang with those guys is not my desire or intentions. My dreams and aspirations for this build are to have a extremely fun and stupid fast daily driver and for my twice a year 9 hr drive to upstate NY on the open interstate roads alot more enjoyable... even if I come in low and only get 275 hp on the build I will be pleasantly satisfied because 275 hp on a little eclipse body is fast.

I get what you other guys are saying 4g is better start there etc etc.. Ive tuned that out because I want to take something that wasent and make it into something that is. I already know im going to put $3000 into the motor with turbo kit included I know this but I will have built this monster myself and I know exactly what I have in it.

It will be fun to build this with my wife and kids. My wife and I are building this together she and I both loved the green eclipse from the F&F movie a,d since there are maybe a hand full of eclipses from that era still on the road in the greater columbus area, maybe 1 or 2 are gst or gsx and the others are on their last legs and since there has never been a replica of that car in this area, that onle will set my car apart and the fact that it will have turbo on the 420A makes it even better. I will start stacking the trophies up from the car shows..

So while I respect the 4g guys yeah yours is factory turbo, setup better for it and you might be faster then me, but there is only one way your ever going to find out..

in the meantime for those that are interested and following the build, I have the car up on stands, I have the rear quarter panel , front fender and half the hood sanded down. All body kit pieces removed, lights removed. its coming along.

I have another 420A motor and 2 new doors Im picking up in 2 weeks. The motor will go on the stand for rebuild while i keep mine in to enjoy it in the N/A state while im building the other. The doors well, all of the panels on my doors were busted and handles busted. speakers ripped out etc. the doors im getting have been well taken care of everything in them and on them work i think it has alpines in the doors for speakers aswell (bonus!!) I went to the pick n pull and found a gold mine of factory parts. I got the full rear tail light kit and even the silver eclipse lettering is still intact and looks good, got full factory headlights both sides just needs the cloudy crap buffed off, and even came out with factory fog lights. all from a 99 eclipse , new trunk shocks to boot. LOL I even scrapped the "Limited edition" factory emblem off to put on mine when im done.. LOL

Stick to it. Dont let other try to tell you otherwise as long as you are aware of the short comings of the motor. I was going to say if you didnt already have a spare motor to work on you should look into the 2.4l blocks. The extra displacement is always nice with a street car and could go EDZ with srt4/pt cruiser internals. Thats something you'd have to research.

For a street car, the 2.4l (4g64 or edz), is the way to go.

Well its been a few since last update. here are a few more pics.. Car is almost ready for paint.. Just have little bit of bondo work left on the body kit prime and sand.. (im so tired of freaking sanding...) Paint is on order.. I went with Rustoleum brand Sublime green already reduced just pour and shoot.. 1 gallon of that was 120 bucks vs 300 not sure what i will get but all of the reviews have been good on that paint. I put a pick of the rims I ordered (17 inch). Closest I could find that matches the movie as the rims from the movie the company doesnt exist anymore.. I ordered 2 new upper control arms with new ball joints and I ordered a energy hyperflex master bushing kit. The next 3 things I need to order are new coil overs (not sure if I want to run stock, roads are crap around here and I do not want to scrape oil pan from lowering..) needs new rotors and pads, new stage 4 clutch (thinking xtc brand? only 180 on ebay)

Also, I wanted to ask a series questions.. I saw another thread on here titled "420A 20PSI" and the thread was locked and not very helpful. I want to run 15 -20 lbs of boost as daily driver. My power goal is 275 - 300HP. I want to turbo to spool fast for those first couple of gears 1-3 and for passing people on the interstate. So the questions are:

My build as of right now, as mentioned , Eagle H-beam rods, Weisco dish style 8.8:1 pistons (+.020) king rod bearings, Clevite mains, Brian Crower stage 2 turbo cams, upgraded lifters (not sure what to get any suggestions?) ported head, and stock valves re-seated.
Walbro 255 fuel pump, Larger injectors (what size should I get ? would 550cc be good ?) and lastly (for now) what turbo should I use ? (this is a budget build) I was going to get the "Ebay Kit" just to get the intercooler , manifold, BOV and waste gate but maybe bolt on a better turbo..

What are your suggestions? (dont reply back with sell it and get a gst or whatever because I do not want to here it.. this is a 420A project build on a 420A forum..

Walbro 255, 650cc injectors minimum, adjustable FPR.

Look for a used Hahn S16G turbo kit. It will have all the basics and be bolt-on. Lifters can stay stock, or get Chrysler 2.7 stuff.

Don't use an Ebay clutch, they are crap. I think Clutch Masters makes a good one for the 420A.

I went with an MHI 20g on mine with a T3 turbine housing. I wanted a proven turbo that was oil and water cooled along with a decent price. I got mine off @JusMX141 on here. He is the main turbo rebuilder on the site. Might be worth talking with him about it. Those eBay kits are nothing but junk parts. You will be further ahead to buy good parts the first time around and not have to buy things twice.

You are buying good parts for the engine build. Why cheap out on the waste gate and bov and chase problems.

Have you began looking into tuning solutions yet? As injectors go, get the largest you can/want to spend.

Lifters/rockers see this article:

hello guys and gals its been awhile since Ive been on.. Car is painted and getting it put back together. Im going to buy the turbo separate but will use the ebay "log" manifold. and piping kit. Tomorrow im going to order a brand new mega squirt v2 with 8' harness so I can mount the MS in the cab with me. Right now Im tearing into the front suspension and let me just say its a nightmare..
