It will not work. I did a ton of research and everyone told me it will work this person did it that person made it fit so what I did was try it out. I bought the Cts big brake kit and installed it. I also went ahead and bought the sbc finish rpf1s 17x9 brand new from stm along with 255 tires and not to mention 15mm spacers. The brakes already have a 5mm spacer and I put the 15mm STM spacer and the wheels still do not clear. I can tell you this from personal experience so you do not waste your money. Please keep in mind I do have a 2g but should not change anything. The straight design is the sexy one but unfortunately that’s why it doesn’t clear. I was super upset but at least wanna let you know it doesn’t work so it saves you some headaches.

I said that 9 inch creates a problem because of spoke design change but 8.5 or smaller should work.

What about the +22 offset anyone know if that will work with evo brakes?

You still need spacers for the front evo calipers. I beliave the minimum is 18 offset where it clears. You would have to doable check but I beliave thats the magic number. I also think it wont fit the fenders, meaning it will poke like crazy.

Ya was reading more again on the evo forums last night. They say the +22 still requires a spacer.

Which did raise another question. Since the +15 comes in a 10.5 and a 9.5 both require I'm sure fender flares (which I plan to do anyways) but the question I have is will the 9.5 require the suspension mods like the 10.5 does? Or will it just depend on size of tire used? I believe john was running 285 on his 10.5 rpf1's. But now runs a 315 on his new wheels.

I was thinking 265-275 for the 9.5

Here's a pict of the material removal and replacement bobby Gould did for john freund.

You can see it there. You might be able to zoom in. They are in the car for the next race this weekend so I won't be able to get a close up until Sunday.

What size tires are you using?
Edit : checked your profile 275 size tire.

ANY mods needed to the suspension for it to clear?
Edit: you and I have the identical suspension setups

What all did you do the fenders? Just rolled?

No mods to clear this setup. The 17x10 +18 clears the Knuckle. I have -2.5 in front and -1.5 in back. Nothing to fenders. HOWEVER, my front spring rates are at 13k front and 6k rear. And they poke, quite a bit. But it's not a stance car either.

When you had feal do your kit did you specify those spring rates?

I should have probably gone with the tire I was going to use vs what I was running at the time when I had them build my set.

However things have been good with work and I'm a lot farther along then I would ever have imagined on my build.
