Up until February I daily drove my 1G until one day when it was extremely difficult to get into gear and had clutch fluid on the ground. So I replaced the slave cylinder bled it down and it worked fine for a bit until the same problem arose. So I decided screw it I'll get the clutch master cylinder and the line to be safe. I threw on everything and when I tried bleeding it I got no pressure and I found that it wasn't even making it out of the clutch master cylinder. The rod and nut are adjusted back as far as it goes and I can see it depress. I'm really stumped and need to get my car out of the yard.

It is always best to put the master in a vice and get it pumped up and putting out fluid, just like on a brake master. After that, install it and bleed the slave, since you know the master is putting out fluid. It sometimes takes quite a few pumps to get a master to start pushing fluid. You can SUCK the fluid out from the slave by using a power bleeder or liquid transfer pump if you have access to either of them, or have a friend pump while you bleed at the slave.
 
Not sure what specifically is going on here, but I'll never bleed a brake or clutch line without speed bleeders again. One thing I've tried is to manually press in the slave cylinder multiple times as I've heard that can help get trapped air as well. Not sure if that's an old wives tale or not but it can't hurt.

Trying to be helpful Josh! You had it, I just wanted to expand on it!
I have used a metal brake line bent back into the reservoir so that no air can get back in. Old school but it works. The latest slave I bled was on my V45 Motorcycle and I hooked up my liquid transfer pump to the slave bleeder then cracked it open, put a tall loop in the vinyl tubing (kind of like a P trap in your sink drain) and watched the air come out as it sucked. Had to keep filling the master on it so it didn't go dry but it was super easy to do and I couldn't get the dam thing to create pressure by just pumping its clutch.

I've never changed one before I didn't know about bench bleeding these guess it's not too bad. But boy is it gonna be fun getting that cotter pin again
 
Do this, unhook the line and get a metal brake line that will screw into the master. Cut it to a proper length to bend it back around and into the fluid reservoir. Get in the car and pump the siht out of it. Not fast but steady and all the way down, then repeat....a lot. This should get the master bled of air without pulling it out.
You can also use the plastic threaded nipples that you can find in a brake bleeding kit and that kit has rubber hose that will do the exact same thing. I think all the parts stores carry the plastic nipples and line, it is all in one kit.
Once you have pressure at the master (fluid will be flowing out of the tube or rubber hose when the clutch pedal is depressed), put the slave line back on and move down to the slave. I would try to fill the line with fluid if possible. Use a syringe to squirt it into the line. You can get syringes at a farm supply place for injections that farmers give animals.
DON'T GET ANY ON YOUR PAINT, IT WILL TAKE IT OFF. Then proceed to bleed at the slave cylinder.
 
Well I can understand not wanting to be upside down under the dash anymore than possible :cry: :p

If you decide to take it out again don't remove the cotter pin. Leave the clevis bracket in the car and just unscrew the rod all the way

I have a brake bleed kit with some rubber hoses so I'm going to attempt that redirect it into the reservior and pump method. Oh and I have installed a new STM SS clutch line all the way to the slave, but unscrewed it just before the master. So I think that'll make getting some fluid in the line a little easier. Gonna attempt this tomorrow
 
I ended up using my brake bleed kit to route the fluid back into the reservior until it was purged of air. Then I connected one end of the tube into the bottle of dot 3 ran that through the gun and put the other tube on the bleed nipple of the slave, and simply pumped the system full of fluid. Finally I bled the clutch with a buddy until there were no bubbles. Overall the operation was a success
