My talon awd spyder build

Ok well i saw this spyder for $500 on the web working conditions just needed tlc and a new top oh and it was skipping seconds gear. So it got parked for 2 years. Guy never sold it. So i offered $200 bones. The guy messaged me saying no way he gets more in parting it out. Ok ill wait a month no worries. So yesterday i messaged him and he said its yours for 200. Made my trip 30 min to go pick it up. And finally my own spyder. My plans are to go awd and talon convertion. Also manual swap. And restore the hell out of it. Heres some pics of when i picked it up

And now a pic of today at my house waiting for the tearing up to start. Or maybe just fix it and drive it while i get all the parts together for the awd swap.

And yes its a 4g64 i read a lot on these and im excited to take on the challenge.
 
So here is the damage on the car. Surface rust everywhere. And a bolt for the passenger seat was ripped off. And i had to cut off the bold from the driver side seat due to it being all rusted and it was gone! Ill fix that later.

So i started ripping the old factory rubber from the bottom floor board and the paint and surface rust off. Trying to get it as clean as possible to coat it with some rust protective paint.

And there you go now need to let it dry and come back in the morning.

And this is the trunk. But got it fixed too. Washed it to see how it will look due to it not being washed in over 2 years.

Installed my black carpet from the wace car!! Lol due to being a hardtop so it will not be seen. So on a spyder you will be able to see it better and it will give it a cleaner look. Just beauty and it just needs a little clean thats it. Due to daughter walking all over it.

@chrysler kid yeah i know right LOL. And ive always wanted a spyder thats why i got this one. And well maybe just make it run and leave it for the wife. Thats it. I still dont know. Im in a what if kind of world right now.

But yeah a buddy of mine here close by has a huge lot with a bunch of eclipses thats were i get my parts from

I dont plan on selling this one. Still planning on selling the gst though LOL. Maybe just swap the engine over -_-
 
Fuel pump was gone. So I customized an evo pump that was broken from the feed line on top. And cleaned the hanger and wala!! Car turned on smooth idle too and went back and forth. Just a clak clak clak clak bur does not sound like rod knock. It sounds like something in the torque converter plate. So i inspected it and found this. Just at first glance. I havent spinned it to see the rest because i had to go work.

Looks to be broken from were the bolt sits. Is that whats making that claking sound? We will find out on the next episode of dragon ball z....
 
And took the bolts out. One seems to be custom and the other was all messed up due to all the bolts not being properly tighten down. So i went ahead and replaced the bolts and fired right up with no knocking or anything. Smooth idle.

Then i took it on a little trip to the store to see how good it performed

Transmission seems to struggle to go into gear when it shifts into 3rd. So took it for a long run a 30 min run to work as i was leaving for a trip to Cali and wanted to see how it ranned in the long run. So no overheating issues but found some white stuff on the transmission oil dipstick like if water is entering through the cooler. I think that may be the problem. Because once it warms up it acts funny. And forgot to mention on the way to work the car was going into neutral at like 55 it would high rev itself. Maybe same problem? Ill check it when i get home. I gotta get me an external oil cooler and flush the transmission and coolant.

And heres how i left it at work because the top is ripped.

So i knew it the fuel pump i fabbed up busted a line. So i got a parts car that was rusted to shit. For 460 bucks. Took off the top the fuel pump and rear window motors with windows. So car looks awesome just waiting on the talon me and my cousin are going to go pick up tomorrow so i can swap out the parts.

Heres some picms of the complete car i got working and everything no title and rusted up the ass.

It looked super clean. I wanted to keep it but as soon as i looked under it. I knew it was a goner. Rust everywhere it even had holes already like big ones too. Good engine good transmission i got to drive it a bit. It drove rough i didn’t feel safe behind the wheel of that car. It chaked and on each bump you could actually hear rust pieces fall no joke.

And if you try tackling to switch a top with motors and everything with rear windows it a bi***!! Lol good thing my friend helped out. And the outcome of the spyder.

The interior was like new on it too so i swapped that out too and every little thing that looked old on mine seats etc. Bumpers are temporary till i get the talon tomorrow. Its an awd so i will have all the parts ready for swap. And its red too so no painting needed just buff and wet sand. So here is the outcome
