You gotta dumb things down for us dumb guys. we're pretty big dumb dumbs.

so you know. talk dumb. so that us dumb bums can try to understand what you're talking about. I know you're pretty good with these cars and all.

but sometimes a bit of context would be amazing.

It's been windy here but I've never heard of travel restrictions.

Your catch can you plumbed back into the intake. It put's blow by gasses back into the engine to be burned. Blow by is what gets by the rings, and comes out the valve cover vents. It consists of partially burned fuel, and oil vapor. Both of those are very low octane, and can promote detonation.

I have a similar setup.. and AFAIK seems to be quite normal for our cars.. I have heard of using the exhaust to vent such fumes, would you recommend that instead?

And nick I wish I knew. they were complaining about the power lines being down and wanting people off the road so that our local energy companies could try to keep up on the power outages.

Took the car out on Tuesday to the gym and right before I got there I heard a loud scraping noise on the driver's side as I was sitting at the light. I turned into a parking lot and found that the alternator belt was super loose. I then grabbed the alternator to wiggle it and the damn thing had completely broken off. The aluminum Jay Racing bracket had completely snapped in half. I've heard of this happening before. Jay Racing appears to be sending me a steel version which is very cool of them. I just took the belt off and let the alternator sit on the subframe until I got home. I even got on it a little bit until I remembered I had an alternator just laying about in the engine bay. Whoops, hey why not compound the problem and break the alternator, right?. I snapped some pics of the car in the parking lot. I can't believe this stupid car has come so far. Just needs a paintjob and Super 99 turbo.

Paint job and hood struts would complete the car...get to it now.

Well, the time has come to put the car under the knife again. I was going to install my new GSC S2 cams with the GSC 5041 valvespring kit but I decided to do it the "right" way and have the machine shop do it. I've been sitting on the Curt Brown evo3 intake manifold and 2g head for a while and I HATE sitting on parts rather than using them. I decided to get everything ordered up for the 2g head and drop it off at the machine shop. The car will be down for a weeks while the machine work is done but I'm installing a "built" transmission and new 2g head/evo 3 IM combo. Be back in a little bit.

I decided to pull everything out of the engine bay to make life a little easier on the project. I wound up buying a Curt Brown race head brand new from the local DSM shop. I ordered up all the tools to dial in the cams. I was going to throw them in willy nilly but I've heard too many stories about cams coming out of shape.

I bought a little heat barrier gasket for piece of mind with the manifold. Probably won't do much but won't hurt either. You can also see the porting done on the CB evo3 intake manifold.

I fixed a couple of broken/stripped oil pan threads. Installed a new water pump and oil pan as well. I almost have the car ready to rock on my next week off. Can't wait. The car has been down a lot lately but it's honestly getting better and better and more fun to drive each time it's back.

The evo3 IM had a neat little map sensor bracket bolted onto it. I like this much better than my old position on the wall because it's out of the way and has a shorter line. I tapped the IM for 1/8 because that's the size needed for the AEM sensors and I plan to upgrade to that style one day.

Another man in love with wrinkle black LOL. Almost everything in my bay is wrinkled but my toaster oven is a bit on the small side so curing is a bit of a pita. Luckily I just bought new appliances to make the wife happy so that meant garage oven time LOL
