My engine is in the car and I after everything was back together after a head gasket job I stared loosening the long bolt to take slack out of the belt and it snapped about a half inch away from the threads. I have no idea what im going to do, will I need to pull the engine out and replace the whole tensioner?

Can you not get a needle-nose plier and grab the end of it? Maybe you can turn it little by little? I think it threads into the idler pulley assembly so at most you'd have to take all that out. Wouldn't be the end of the world.

I tried the pliers but it's caught up on the threads. A buddy said I should try to use JB weld and stick a new bold on the end but if that does'nt work how do I go about replacing the tensior while its still semi tight.

I recently purchased a 1gB Talon, both tensioner bolts are broken off in the block, curious if anyone has had this happen, probably gonna drill them out.............

Wow, that's some good mechanic work there; the ole double bolt breakage. Yeah, I'd just drill it out. You may have to take the engine out for that.
