Clay-bar'd my windshield. Since the previous owner had this car under a tree for 2 years, the windshield had baked on grime, sap, and other unknown things. I could see through it, but the visibility wasn't the greatest. A few weeks back I saw a video on youtube about using clay bar to restore windshield glass and decided to try it. It did wonders. The glass is almost as good as new. Did find out there's a few tiny dings in it, that knowing my luck, will probably crack over this winter and will need new glass in the Spring. But until that happens, I'm satisfied with the result. Was my first time using clay bar too. Since it worked so well on the windshield, I may just do my sunroof and rear glass as well.

Chrisfix had a good video on claybaring the windshield. My wife just had safelite come out to seal a chip. Cost her $55

Still working on wire brushing wheel wells and undercarriage. Painted top hats and bolts/ nuts and washers. Wire brushed more on brakes and wheel wells then washed out the wheel wells with the hose.

You read that correctly, I wire brushed and cleaned the bolts then hit them with a wire wheel on a dremel then painted them threads and all. I figure it will bullet proof them some from rust. The threads will be fine maybe need to put some more elbow grease when tightening them. I will likely also use anti seize liberally on most of the suspension bolts. My car wasn't really even bad just a bit of surface rust here and there, but I really don't want to see any rust anywhere. Its not going to be a show car, but its going to be nice enough for me. I'm working on some video for youtube on some of what I've been working on.
I'd like to see your work when you post it. I'm doing the same with my eclipse.

Well I just bought a 97 Eclipse last Saturday. Today I did a visual inspection of the under carriage. I found I need a new lower lateral control arm on front passenger side. The tire tipped me off, it had exposed steel all around it. I also found rust damage on the lower control arm mounting subframe. I am confident that new metal can be welded there for a fix. Nothing I can do about it right now, so I installed a new shifter knob I had on hand. :laser:

Put most of the interior back together. Hitting up Performance Partout tomorrow for the wiring connectors I need so I can get the new seats installed.

Also found a whole lot of rust and rot in the spare tire well. Such a stupid design putting the washer fluid reservoir in there.. went ahead and hit that with a wire wheel and a skim coat of Bondo to fill in the small holes that had rotted through.

Have the next week off of work, gonna be a busy week!

ordered link v3 from the site, I have a feeling it will be a while before I get around to playing with it. well that and research, bit of research. Should I just pop it in the ecu and go or should I get a afr gauge installed first?

Depends, if boost is low and you're not doing anything crazy pop it in and go man. I will assume you ordered it set for the correct airflow sensor, injectors etc. Should be able to just "pop it in" and drive around...driving reasonably. Go ahead do that IMO while reading up on it, and start taking logs.

Wrapped my exhaust manifold, Cleaned my oil pan
Replace turbo return hose
Spark plugs
Attempted fuel filter but bottom fitting pissed me off and gave up
, also found out why my brake pedal goes up when I rev it , Needs one way check valve so in the process of that,
Bought the car 1 week ago
1997 GSX AUTO

Started mocking up my modified exhaust with all vbands from the o2 housing back to make sure everything still fits. So far so good, @Archer Fabrications does phenominal work.

I also modified some stock Evo lugs to fit down my ARP extended studs.

Jeeze Corey I would of just traded you my open mitsu lugs for those ones. I've been spending the last week doing the holset swap, found a crack in my FP manifold so I welded that up last night and just trying to get it ready for spring since it's currently a balmy 30 degrees

I appreciate the offer but it took all of 20s a lug, that cap on the end is just plastic so the saw makes quick work of it, then I just grind it down smooth. What open ended Mitsu lugs do you have?

Where was the crack in the FP mani? Makes me want to inspect mine.

They came factory on my 92 gsx since it had the sawblade style wheels that used full center caps that hid the lugnuts.

Where mine was cracked you'd be able to see clear as day LOL

I run a turbo blanket so I don't get to look at my manifold much.. found out that FP is no longer warrantying them though (I thought it was lifetime.. now it's one year from purchase date)

Thats where I come in LOL. Hit me up if you need a upgraded dsm flange manifold :thumb:

Haha Funny thing Kyle, I was actually thinking about you as I was cleaning up the manifold and welding it.. when I talked to FP they said I could just buy another one since they were on sale and I'm thinking.... I moved to an hx40 so if anything I'm gonna move to something tubular and t3..WHEN the time comes. We're buying a house right meow, and with the baby I'm sure the lady would absolutely love it if I said oh hey btw I'm gonna drop 1g on a manifold LOL
