So I’ve got in out play on my t25 I know that’s not good and should be replaced but can anyone tell me how bad it is? I’ve got a spare turbo ready to go on, if anyone could link me a write up on changing the turbo that would be cool. But do you guys think it will last me until I can get the new one on? I think I need to order gaskets for the swap if I’m correct

If it's smoking I would change it. If you can wiggle the compressor wheel and it touches the housing , you should put the other on asap.
I'd order your gaskets, crush washers now since you already concerned.

Once you get in there it's fairly self explanatory as far as how to swap the turbo out. I undo the oil drain first(from the oil pan)then unbolt the downpipe but that's just me. You can leave the manifold bolted on, cause at the end you can wiggle the turbo out, having the manifold still connected gives you something to grip onto while u wiggle it out.

The previous two posts cover the condition of the turbo.

What is the replacement turbo?

There is no way for any of us to be able to tell you how long a turbo would last. Even if you had a measured result we couldn't tell you that. If you want to minimize what the turbo is doing disconnect the wastegate arm.

Call a vendor to get gaskets. You need exhaust. Turbo, oil return on both sides and crush washers for the water lines.

Perfect time to upgrade to a little bigger turbo,if you have supporting mods

You should contact @JusMX141 here on this forum. His "our" turbo guru & will help with determining your best options.

I messaged him but I found a guy locally that can do it a lot of people in my area recommended him I just don’t know a good place to get a rebuild kit

You would want a dynamic seal. A carbon seal is only needed on a draw-through carburetor set up. I would think that the 360 degree thrust bearing is overkill for the T25. I would stick with the 270 degree thrust bearing.

Good to know thanks again for the hell I really appreciate it.
